We had a simple wedding in Oklahoma and the wedding party wore jeans. Partly because my husband is not fancy at all (didn't wear a tie either) and partly because it allowed the groomsmen to wear any dark wash jeans they wanted. We figured it was also a cost efficient way for them to have their wedding attire. Neither of us are fancy people and told our guests they could come casual and wear jeans also if they wanted. We wanted everyone to feel comfortable and come however they wanted, but it was a personal preference and worked well for us. I don't think it's wrong either way though and is just that, a personal preference.

For sure The D....I looked at those jeans and was like, this is inspiration?
For the BM dresses - I actually wore a bridesmaids dress by Joanna August last month! They are all that expensive, and are very pretty and flowy, but are they are expensive even for bridesmaids dresses. There are a lot of cheaper options out there you can check out, including Azazie!
Damn some of you girls are going savage in the comments. If someone is having a super rustic country wedding at a barn in Texas, why would the men be in Tuxes? I think that would look more weird than jeans honestly!
ETD: I do think that khakis are a better option but if your FH is a true cowboy and the wedding is super consistent with being very country and casual.. Go for it!
@Deanna - A suit or nice slacks with button ups and a tie is just more appropriate for an event such as a wedding, in my opinion. Sharing an opinion is not being "savage" just because you disagree with the opinion.

@Amanda, No one attacked you as a person. They simply did not support your idea to have your GM be so casual and your BM have to spend that much on a dress that is frankly not worth it IMO.
And Lynnie wants to talk to you because you violated LOL, you cannot respond to people the way you did.

Lol she thinks Lynnie is contacting her to see what's up... Lynnie's giving her a warning LMAO
This is a great example of how screwed up WW is. Amanda has been flagged down at least FIVE times in the last twenty minutes and yet is still posting, and will probably get a little slap on the wrist.
Hate jeans at weddings -- glad you decided to veto the idea!
I also think it's unfair to have a $250 bridesmaid dress and then jeans for the grooms/groomsmen. I'm letting my bridesmaids all pick out their own dresses at long as its long and light pink. I trust their judgement and also don't want them going broke.

Just want to point out that not only are the jeans a very poor fit in the inspo picture, those shirts also don't fit. I am sure some of those guys look decent underneath the baggy, poorly (not) tailored getup, but you wouldn't know it from that pic. At least get shirts fitted properly and jeans tailored and hemmed properly if anyone is thinking of doing this. Weddings where the bride is glowing with perfect hair, makeup, properly tailored dress, and the groom and groomsmen look like they are wearing potato sacks are totally unnecessary, and always look weird.

Call me crazy, but I find a man -- any man, regardless of shape or size -- at his most attractive in a perfectly fitting suit (tuxes look terrific, as well -- I've just seen more than a few that are ill fitting). I adore a great suit and any occasion that puts my husband in one.
I realize that the oft-flagged Amanda (I guess things got heated...) is going to veto the jeans idea and go with khakis, but I'm still stuck on a suit. I've seen too many pics of the GM in jeans or khakis that are ill-fitting, and for the GM who may be carrying a disproportionate amount of weight in their stomachs, vests over shirts can be a really sloppy look.
Amanda, it sounds like you've gotten yourself into some hot water with the mods. It wasn't worth it. Believe me, nobody here is personally invested in your wedding, so try not to take things so personally.
