But a few posts up you said that the bridesmaids know nothing of their attire because It hadn't been decided yet. Did you mean the bridesmaids know nothing about the grooms men's attire?

Everybody has their own opinions I say it looks good if you are having a rustic wedding we are doing the same thing but they will have vest over the shirts.

I think this barn/jeans/boots thing is a trend for most of the country and will pass soon but you guys should wear whatever makes you happy. It logically makes no sense to me to wear jeans on your "fanciest" day when you'll likely be spending more money in one day than you've ever spent in your life. In my opinion that day, considering the money and importance of the event, deserves at least dress trousers but again, what you wear, as long as you're not naked (see: naturalist wedding several months ago), should make you happy.

    THAT BM dress is $250?!

    Ripoff.

I can get a designer gown at Nordstrom's for that price.

Anyway, nix the jeans. The groom can't wear khakis instead? I mean, it's only for a few hours. Damn.

Really trying not to go off on a tangential rant about how one sign that our society is going down the toilet is the fact that no one seems to know how to dress for an occasion anymore.

Jeans at a wedding is a super pet peeve of mine. I haaaate it with a passion. I want people to respect my event, not show up like it's just another day.

But, it's not my wedding so you can do whatever you like.

I am with gymrat: that does not look like a $250 dress. Have your ladies already ordered? Can you cancel?

I say it fits the overall feel of the wedding. Now if it was in a ballroom then no. But a barn right on.

I don't think jeans belong at a wedding and I also would never spend $250 on that dress. I would however politely decline your bridesmaid invitation when I found out that I had to pay $250 for that dress while the groomsmen got to wear jeans

Personally I don't like it. I feel like they should at least wear slacks. I went to a wedding where the groom and three of his groomsmen wore sneakers. I didn't like that either. I think a wedding should be somewhat formal. It doesn't have to involve a tux, but at least clothes someone wear to church or to a job interview.

I'd be furious if I paid $250 for a bridesmaids dress and the groomsmen were wearing jeans and guests were in sundresses.

Jeans/boots/rustic at a wedding is "trendy" much like ruffled shirts and bell bottoms were once also trendy. The photo Alexis posted is way more appropriate for such an important day. I think a wedding deserves more respect than just throwing on a pair of jeans and a shirt

I don't care if the designer is Jesus himself sending in sketches from Heaven- those dresses are total ripoffs. You need to either cancel them (best option) or your groomsmen and groom need to dress up a little. Right now your bridesmaids are getting screwed and they will not be happy about that when they are standing next to groomsmen who are wearing stuff they had in their closet to go four wheeling in.

I known this thread isn't about the bridesmaids dresses, but personally this is the reason I don't like when people pick the dresses for their bridesmaids. I think they should only pick the color. I do not like that dress and would not feel comfortable in it because I like to wear a normal bra. I would hate to spend $250 on something I don't like and would never wear again.
