Nope not at all. I know people married that day since and I know people who have had planned babies on that day. We have a lot of feelings about that date also. I think it would be great to turn it around and make it a good date to remember instead of a sad one.

9/11 is a day of remembrance and being thankful, I think it's a wonderful day to get married.

You can even have a special ceremony for those you lost.

It took until 2007 before I had a couple who wanted to be married on Sept. 11. Then I had another in 2010.

I agree with MJ -- we need to make it a good date.

Besides, many people have gotten married on Dec. 7 (the day that will live in infamy) since 1941.

That is not wrong at all, very special. The wedding would bring all of your family and friends together on that day to share the memory of a lost loved one and celebrate the united love of the both of you.

There is nothing wrong with it. You want to honor someone who isn't here anymore and that is a great honor.

    I don't think it's wrong. I wouldn't but that's just me.

If that's the date you want I don't see anything wrong with it.

I agree, it's a wonderful way to turn a sad day into a joyous one. We got engaged on September 11th (although not on purpose, it just happened at 3am).

I agree that it's wonderful to make a sad day into a happy one. I would caution that there may be a few guests who aren't up to attending a wedding on that day. 9/11 is a day of remembrance and reflection, and some people want to do that in private.

Nope. People are born, die and get married on significant days all the time. One notorious day is Valentine's day. If you have a sentimental reason for getting married that day, at least you would still be honoring the person but also have a happy memory for that date.

If thats a date you want then go for it, i wouldn't be able to only because it would be too emotional of a day already for me as i have lost someone on 9/11

Do it. It's an anniversary, but it will be the 12-year so I don't think that it's too close.

As an EMT 9/11 will always be a sad day for me. that being said, I see no issue with weddings on that day.
