Is anyone else scared, but excited at the same time??

Jamie, on March 12, 2012 at 4:57 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 22

Like, "This is it, I'm getting married. This is when my life is REALLY going to start."

I can't wait to start our family, to walk through life as Husband and Wife, but I'm still scared.

Please tell me I'm not alone.

To the already married: Did you feel like this?

I got this feeling after my FH's grandfather said a prayer and included us in it as the soon-to-bes. I literally got butterflies and felt like running out of the house lol then i sat down for 15 minutes, thought about it, and was good lol

i think it's normal. it's a big deal! Smiley smile

I guess I just never really imagined getting married to be a such a "big deal", but now that we're booking and spending spending spending, it's really becoming a reality.

I wasn't the kind of girl who dreamed of her wedding day, I used to be quite the pessimist about love in general until I met FH.

You are not alone Smiley winking I'm super excited but anxious at the same time. Perhaps because I'm a second timer and I never felt this way my first time around (as in I had zero nervousness or anxiety just kinda "showed" up and did it). This time I am absolutely certain it's right.

I am definitely scared lol but I am very excited! I'm just worried about the unknown - I'm a planner and I feel like a lot of aspects in marriage can't be "planned". But I am so excited to marry my FH so it outweighs the anxiety. I think it's normal.

Same here ladies. I am super excited and super nervous too! I think I had my "aha" moment this weekend when we took engagement photos. I have been previously engaged to another man, but didn't get this far in the planning. This thing is really happening, and it feels good!

I am super nervous. The thought of having a husband scares me sh*tless. We have just over three months to go then the rest of our lives begin. Exciting-yes. Scary- heck yes.

I was calm, cool and collected the ENTIRE wedding planning process. HOWEVER, at the rehearsal, it hit me like a ton o bricks lol. I was nervous, anxious, and my brain kept saying OMG its real. LOL I was so nervous walking down that aisle and standing up there with him. I was shaking, my expression was serious when i wasnt tearing up but as soon as it was over, it was like a weight had been lifted. I think a lot of my nerves was my fear of public speaking kicking in when you realize youre going to have 100+ pairs of eyes on you! lol We had a home, dogs, and he treats my son as his so we essentially had a family already. Nothing has really changed for us but we are much closer now than before

I'm freaking out! We have been waiting for a long time for this. I will finally be using the same last name as my daughter. We will be a family...I'm nervous for the wedding do to so many things going on and waiting on RSVPs is driving me bananas. I can't wait until the wedding is over and I can start making our home more "homey" and going on without a care to the "wedding budget"!

As my mother would say, you'd be a fool not to be scared! I definitely am! I take it as a sign that I really am taking marriage very seriously. You are not alone!

I'm definitely scared. Not so much for the husband-and-wife thing, more for the day itself and wanting everything to go smoothly. I went to a wedding this weekend as a guest (my first time since I've been engaged, so I viewed it differently). The bride was running around greeting everyone the whole time, I don't think she ever sat down, I just kept thinking "This looks so much more difficult than I was imagining!"

Same here. Excited and scared at the same time He and I have both been married before and this one is for keeps. It's a big decision and so I thin it's normal.

I've asked FH if he's nervous, scared, but he's only afraid he is going to end up a pile of tears by the end of the ceremony. Im sure that is pretty normal as well! :-)
