I really think you should!! Wedding photos are something you're going to want!! You can keep them forever, show your children, grandchildren, ect. Look on Thumbtack it's a site for vendors. I found mine on there for $700 for 5 hours, editing, full release of all pics, ect. I definitely think, if you can afford one, you're going to wish you had one if you don't hire someone. That's just my personal opinion though. Do what you do!! Good luck!!
Right! It's really rare that people feel this way here. This is our one and only wedding. FH and I have been together for 8 years, we have had plenty of time to picture our wedding and plan it just the way we want it.

If we don't hire someone, we'll just ask a friend to take photos. Photos are important but in reality, you hang up 5-15 max in your house and have an album of 50 max. We don't find it worth it to spend $**** on a photographer. Thanks!
We don't officially have a budget but were trying to keep things on the "cheaper" side while still getting what we want. For sure we are trying to keep it under 25k but I don't know if it'll happen 😩

True haha not much but at forst was going for $10k and now at $22k total or so but us paying about $17k of it
We have a 9k budget. I'm slowly buying things that the venue doesn't provide and slowly trying to save for the costs of the venue its self. So right now I'm a little overwhelmed but reasonably within budget
We didn't have a "real" budget at first. I did initially throw out a 50k figure, but when we actually started researching costs, we quickly realized we'd have to revise and budget for real. Our budget currently sits at 75k. It's that much because the wedding is in downtown SF proper (2nd most expensive city in the US) and we will have 200-250 guests--ahhh the joys of Vietnamese weddings.
It does not include the honeymoon, engagement outfits, or rehearsal dinners. We're hoping our parents will cover the 2 rehearsal dinners, but otherwise we're splitting costs equally. We'll probably recoup about 10k of it in cash gifts though.
We never really set a budget, more of a range of how much we expect to spend... I wanna stay within 10-15k and I feel like that is a decent budget... fortunately, I live in a small town so costs are lower than big cities and I am DIYing majority of the wedding. I won’t know til I’m further in planning if I’m going to stay within my range
Bahahaha if you count our "venue budget" and just ignore wedding bands, decor, cake flowers, hotel. Ect ect Lordt! At this point I just kiss my money goodbye.
Probably true. In a dream world I didn't want to spend more than 10k but once I've paid for everything it may probably be closer to 12k

False! I am far under budget and only have a few things left to do and to buy! My mom and dad helped tremendously with the dress and the venue so it really left a lot of room for me to spend money on other things we need. I cut corners on a lot of things so that really helped. We're our own DJ, our cake is being gifted to us, we're DIYing the arch to get married under, we're DIYing our photobooth, we have catering at a FANTASTIC deal. It's amazing.
True. My budget was around $24k but at that time I wasn’t thinking about all the add ons and upgrades I wanted...definitely not $24k anymore! 😩
