If you had to get married on a holiday, which would you choose?

Jo, on August 24, 2018 at 1:05 PM Posted in Planning 0 65

If you had to get married on a holiday, which one would you choose? Why that holiday? Would you choose a holiday that gave you great decor inspiration? Would you choose a holiday that would give you a long weekend so you and your guests could stretch out the celebration? If you are already planning a holiday wedding, why did you choose it?

If you had to get married on a holiday, which would you choose? 1

I think I'd do new years eve and find a place that lets it go until new years. Which is weird for me because I want an outdoor wedding and that could be possible in southern California but I wouldn't want to risk it. I just think it would be a lot of fun and romantic.

I would do Halloween for sure. I almost did but then decided to many people I know/am related have anniversaries/birthdays in October. I would have loved to do Halloween theme though because both my fiance and I get really into Halloween. I for sure would have had fun being a zombie bride and having creepy decorations.

I would do the Fourth of July because it gives an excuse to use fireworks!

I took the quiz (thanks!) and loved my answer- St. Patrick's Day. But in all honesty- open bar, green & gold, possibility of a snowfall (we are getting married in January as is), and Dropkick Murphys, along with Whiskey and Baileys. Oh and have I mentioned our last name will be McNally!

Halloween! We love Halloween! We would have done it but it's a Wednesday and we are doing it in Vegas so we don't want people having to take more time off work than they already are. We eloped 2 days after Valentine's day and the ceremony is 4 days before Halloween

I'd do Christmas 100%!! My favorite time of year!

All of the silver and golds, forest green bridesmaids dresses, deep dark greenery and garland everywhere! Lights galore! Light touches of red (maybe plaid?) in the ribbons on our flowers, and in other subtle elements. Ornament favors and a hot chocolate bar! A line of plain (or lighted) real Christmas trees as the backdrop to our ceremony! So magical!

We're having a winter wedding in January with all of the hues of blue so its still the cozy and magical vibe but definitely love the holidays and Christmas.

It would definitely be on 4th of July since that is when FH proposed. Also because it would be great to have all the fireworks too!!

My favorite holiday is Halloween but new years eve would be the one I'd get married on, but I didn't want to delay my wedding to wait!

NYE. 🎉 Our friends would love to have a fabulous party to attend and the energy of a NYE wedding would be so much fun!

We kinda accidentally chose a special occasion. Not a holiday but we got married on spring equinox which I think is symbolic of a new beginning. 🌸

Fourth of July, I guess? I honestly don't want it near any holiday because my birthday is 4 days after Christmas and that just sucks. Everyone has plans around that time and my birthday is always overshadowed by Christmas. FH does a good job of making me feel special on my day, but I still would never choose it.

I would have loved to have had our wedding sometime in April. but we had to work around his son's military orders, so October 20 it is!

The quiz told me 4th of July, but I really think I would want to on Thanksgiving!
It is my favorite holiday, all my favorite food and my favorite time of year! I would serve Thanksgiving meal, have pies instead of cake, and it would be a nice change to dance and celebrate a wedding on Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving would be perfect!! Smiley love

I would love to do Halloween if I had to make a choice! In an ideal world, it would still be a weekend. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays and it would be a perfect excuse to lean into fall a bit more and even a bit more of a Victorian gothic look.

We allllllllllmost picked 4th of a July as our date! LOL Because we would always have our anniversary off AND every year we’d have fireworks on our anniversary. 😁

However, we ultimately decided on a December date!

I just took the quiz and am so happy I got Halloween! I would LOVE a Halloween wedding - I'd wear a massive black dress, have a Nightmare Before Christmas themed cake, silver or white table cloths with black lace overlays, lots of velvet everywhere, I'd wear super dark lipstick and black nails (like i do just about every day anyway!), and my bouquet would have proteas, lots of greenery, and black & grey ribbon Smiley love

    I AM doing 4th of July 😁😁!
It's when we met and we managed to get weekday (thursday) pricing for our venue. I couldn't be happier
