I have friends, family members, and randoms saying.. "ohhh can I see your ring? Why didn't you get White gold??????" There is no awww this is nice, or it's beautiful, or I love it, or It fits you, etc.. Everyone keeps asking me why I didn't get white gold. I love yellow gold! I'm a yellow gold type of person. But when I tell them that my diamond is one carat their views change. All my friends that are engaged or married don't even have nothing close to that but they have huge white gold rings with big diamonds on their fingers.

It's a very classy setting, and it sounds like your blingin' ring fits your personality too!

I have a black diamond engagement ring, and I adore it. I told him that's what I wanted, and he picked out the perfect one. I haven't gotten any negative comments about it yet, but I'm very non-traditional, so it fits my personality and attitude.

They may just be curious of why you didn't chose white gold. I got a sapphire ring and I had people ask me, "Why didn't you get a diamond ring?" I just let them know that I am not a big diamond person. It doesn't make me happy and sapphires do just like the yellow gold is what makes you happy. I wouldn't think they were trying to be intentionally rude. Just nowadays, people get white gold now because it's popular. I wouldn't trip off of it anyway because they will see it for 5 seconds and I will see it all day.

All I have to say about this is....wow people are rude! Sweetheart, its your ring that the man of your dreams gave you to express how much he loves you. Sorry to be crude, but who gives a flying fruit what other people think.

You have a nice set! and just bc they have a BIG diamond doesn't mean the quality is better. I would rather have a 1 carat with D color and VVS stone! The only thing that matters is that you love it, it's your ring.
