i need honest opinions 1
So I've always loved a mermaid gown but being insecure and a plus size women I never had the courage to wear one. I recently went dress shopping and tried on about 4 other dresses but the moment I saw this dress on me I got overwhelmed at how good It looked on me. I said yes to the dress! It's now been a few days and I keep looking at this picture and keep thinking I chose the wrong dress 😕 I think I feel this way because i am stepping out of my comfort zone by wearing this mermaid dress. I need honest opinions please, what do you guys think?

Beautiful dress but if you want an honest opinion and I say this because I am in a situation where I carry weight lower maybe just find shape wear that will smooth the mid section but otherwise I feel you rock the dress and it is lovely. I hope I am not being hurtful at all as that is not my intention. For my strapless I want to up my back work to avoid overhang and lose the lbs.

I think you look great, and very bridal! Once it arrives in your size and the seamstress pins it to fit you exactly, you'll be much happier with the fit I'm sure. I looked weird in some sample dresses because they were way too big or way too small so until my dress arrived I really didn't know how I looked when it actually fit me. After you begin alterations, you can always buy shapewear or add things like boning, cups, etc. that lots of brides do to help with fit!

I'm completely understand where you're coming from. I'm somewhat stepping out of my comfort zone with my dress as it's showing a bit of cleavage, which I never do lol. But there's a reason you felt so overwhelmed with emotion when you tried it on, because you know you look (and feel) awesome in it! It's a beautiful dress all on it's own and it looks great on you. Branching out of your comfort zone is hard, but don't discourage yourself from wearing the dress that makes you happy Smiley smile

I think it looks beautiful. When it is altered to fit you it will look even better. What matters is you feel confident in it.

Girl we got this. With form fitting dresses I have the same issue but honestly I think if you loved it then you get it and the great thing is you have time. Plus like other ladies said with alterations if you get any then it will be made to fit your body. I applaud you for getting what you want and stepping out of your comfort zone. Not sure if you plan to wear a veil a cathedral veil I feel is so lovely with mermaid styles. I really love the dress on you.

Thank you so much. And you're right, there's a reason why there was so much emotion when seeing this dress on me. Thanks again for your encouraging words!

My first try on after my dress came in, I was pretty bummed. It did NOT fit like I thought it would. After my next alterations visit and it had been taken in, cups added, etc. (plus I showed up with makeup on and my hair cute so I felt better about myself) I was MUCH happier. Plus I had been losing a little weight and taking better care of my skin & hair, so I felt like I was in my head. I'm sure that's just what is happening to you too!

Girl you look amazing! As a fellow plus sized bride with a mermaid dress, you are bound to be a little self conscious. Buuuut you are also your own worst critic. No one will notice your problem areas but YOU. I sent a picture of a dress to my expecting her to comment on my stomach, but instead she asked why the dress had a blue underlay that I was too distracted by my problem area to notice!!! Take a deep breath and rock your dress. Promise you will look amazing on your day as you are.

I think it's great! You might be plus sized, but that doesn't mean you're not beautiful or that you're "fat" in any way. It's easy to think you chose wrong just looking at the dress, try to remember how you felt wearing it. I love it, you definitely should go with it. Your FH will have hearts in his eyes Smiley love
