I need a fake ring

Mrs Lilow, on May 14, 2011 at 6:42 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 22

I want to get a decent quality cubic zirconia to wear as a decoy ring for vegas, our honeymoon, when I go out drinking with girlfriends etc. Any suggestions on a good website? I bought one for like $15 and it was just TOO cheap looking, turned my finger green etc. Hoping to find a decent one for like $50?

Amazon has a ton of options. This one looks similar to your ring:

If you find another super cheap one you like, painting the inside of it with clear nail polish before you wear it will keep your finger from turning green.

I would look in your local department store at their costume jewelry. Sometimes Macy's and Belk can have some great looking fake rings that if you didn't buy it and know the price you wouldn't know they were fake. Most are like $25 to $35 dollars.

I'm glad you posted this. I want one for our honeymoon.. I'm too scared to bring all those diamonds to Jamaica. I want a new e ring and band that I wont care about if it gets messed up, lost, stolen, etc.

It's always a good idea to travel with costume jewelry. I bought a lovely set at Macy's.

Ok I went with ebay, good selection for smaller size 4's. Here's the one I just bought. Thanks for the tips.

I see that you found a ring. I have purchased a ring from this seller before. Very happy with the ring that I bought.

Try Kohl's too. They have nice costume jewelry and it would be well within your budget.

It is more than you are wanting to spend but QVC has good ones too (@$100). That is where my Mom's fake travel jewelry is from and it looks great.

Definitely do what makes you feel comfortable, but you don't need to worry about security in vegas. Have fun!

The crime rate in Vegas is no joke, but I am actually more concerned about my drunk bachelorette ass losing it on the dance floor or something. Smiley smile

One of my friends bought one through avon for 10 dollars. It was a solitaire and it looked like at least 2 ct of fake stone but I'm sure for pictures and such it would look ok.

You can insure your ring. I got 8000 worth of coverage on mine for 200 a year. it covers lost, stolen, broke, lost diamonds...anything and its full replacement. I just had to give them my ring appraisal.. ( with the diamond cut and color, size and the setting specs.. and the value)...I did it though State Farm.

    I got mine at inspiredsilver.com

PSA: Be careful on what size of stand in you get! I could find one that was the same band and cz size as mine. So I just bought the 'simplest' looking one. ANd when I got home and put my real one on. I felt naked. That one was HUGE compared to mine, including the band. And the more I looked at the fake one, the more I liked that bigger stone LOL But I stil LOVE mine.
