I keep having dreams AND daydreams of sex with the ex....

I've had instances when I'll daydream about my ex. Not necessarily in a sexual way, but when I see actors in movies that look like him, I sometimes get "awkward" butterflies ( I say awkward because I know they shouldn't be there!). Also, he and I are still very good friends and we text/email on a regular basis. Now that I'm engaged I've had dreams of getting married to him... weird I know!

I think this is common (I have it, too, even though I've only had "relations" with FH). Don't worry about it - it doesn't mean you don't love FH or shouldn't marry him or anything like that. The psychology major in me would like you to know that it's how you've learned things - you associate certain smells, places, phrases, ect. with your ex, and when you encounter those things, you think of him.

ca-razy! my ex looks like robert downey jr so imagine watching ironman with the FH. ahaha-he was like, "i know ur thinking about him." and i said, "yeah thinking how gross he is-yuck!" LOL but seriously...dreams sometimes DONT mean anything...sometimes they are old memories that re-hatch in your sleep-like a movie replaying with some new fictional parts added.

I've had the dreams of being intimate with my ex too, it's really crazy because I'll roll over and there will be my FH and then I feel like I've cheated on him some how even though I really haven't. I hate my ex, he was abusive and I stayed with him wayyyy too long (guilted me into staying) and I would never go back to him so I don't know why I'm dreaming about doing the dirty with him.

IMO - you can't help who you dream about while sleeping. But.... i would be alarmed if you are also "daydreaming" about having sex with an ex. I would suggest thinking it over before you say "I do" to make sure you are making a right choice of who you want to spend your life with. Is there a chance you are not over your ex?

And to answer your question. I have had dreams about a sexual encounter with someone else besides my FH. Everyone does that at one time, just might not always remember them. BUT..... I have NEVER daydreamed about an ex.

Can't say I have. With my first relationship prior to having God in my life (not meaning to sound preachy) I did have relations with that person and I regret it all the time but am thankful I am forgiven. Something I wish I hadn't done. But my two relationships I had prior to FH never had relations with them and I don't fantasize about them. FH and I are staying pure until marriage. And he is the only one I even picture or want to be with. I can't wait until are wedding night.

Mrs.Hubby...I am 100% sure that I want to spend the rest of my life with my FH and I'm soooooo over my ex and it was almost 10yrs ago that I was with him so I'm sure that's not it...the daydreaming will happen in the morning...after I've had a dream with the ex...I wake up....and kinda just think about the dream...I know, weird...but I do try and snap out of it!

Sooooo weirdd! i just had a sex dream last night too. i dont know wats wrong with me! i slept with one person in the dream (who was really really hot but i dont know who he was) and then got into a car with a friends fiance (who i kept calling by another name) and almost had sex with him! in one dream! then got arrested, wearing a tight, tiny mini purple dress... wth?

Holy Cow... not me. LOL!

I've heard this is really common- I've had dreams lately that have involved an ex, but I was reading somewhere that you mind can associate the new with the old, since it's more familiar- which makes sense in my case, I was with my ex twice as long as FH.

Hmmm..interesting.. well i have never had dreams of getting down with my ex, BUT i have had dreams of encounters with celebs i find hot... and some i never really though of.. most recently was blair underwood. but i store those dreams under the "fantasy" file and they don't make me feel like i've cheated since there's no way in reality it would happen.

i have however heard that's its common in MEN AND WOMEN to have dreams like that as the wedding day gets closer.

Ive def had these before. doesnt change feelings...i think maybe it's bc subconsciously we know that we will not be sleeping with anyone else? lol

No i've never dreamed of my ex or even thought of my ex in a sexual way.i could careless.and if i did no one would even know about it.i think if i did dream of him in a sexual way i would wake up out of it so fast i don't think it would get to the stage of dreaming.i thought that dreaming is caused by self councious thought in the mind.i was married for 15 years and i never thought of him again once i left him.and never had a sexual dream of him or any dream of him at all.

No, I haven't had those dreams yet but what I do dream about pretty often is that I look in the mirror and all my teeth feel out!! I don't know what that means...guess I should look that up!!
