So as it turns out, YES, DF did pick the exact same day for our wedding that he had picked for his and CEF (Cheating Ex Fiancee) I mentioned this to F-MIL and she thought it was odd that we had so many similarities. I was able to find out that not only was it the same day BUT ALSO same location,...

....

I raised hell. If there was ever a time I felt like a justified bridezilla, it was yesterday.

I'm not her replacement or substitution and there is no way in HELL i am going to mirror what they planned together. RAWR I have no clue how im going to adjust this considering i love everything we planned so far.

He just lost all say in the wedding planning and he knows it.

Glad you guys talked it through and found the root of the (not so big now) problem.

As soon as i realized that he was being himself (saying whatever sounds good without thinking it quite through) it made it a bit easier ^_^

Im glad things seem to have worked out, by it still would bother me that he thought their aniversary was still special. I'd explore that a bit more if it were me. To be honest I dont even recall my aniversaries with my exes...

I'm glad things worked out. Just be sure they arent working out because your making excuses because thats what you want to hear. Goodluck!

Well, well....looky there...no harm, no foul! See what happens when we think rationally and talk things through? My FH had a life before me....he had an anniversary and she was a special person in his life, he has memories of her and there is absolutely nothing I can do about that! As far as not wanting to "run into her"...hell girl, I feel that way about his ex and mine too....it is awkward and there is always the worry that there may be drama...it has nothing to do with "being over" them or not being over them.

I am very happy that you discussed these things with your FH...that being said PTSD is very serious and he will need your love and support through all of that, you may need some support from a therapist yourself! Happy planning and you know we are here for you =)

EEP! You have every right to be a Bridezilla right now. FH and I have been planning our wedding, and I have been careful not to mirror anything he has done at his first wedding (besides actually having a wedding). He wants to go to Jamaica for our HM, and I refuse to go because that's where they went. I want everything completely different.
