i am so excited but I don't like the date we set. would it be weird to ask fiancé to have our anniversary on a different date, maybe we could turn in marriage license together on a different date? we already have a nonrefundable deposit put down so there is not much we can do about ceremony date.....

@lilly there are 38 characters in your response and that doesn't sit well with me

I wanted my wedding to be on 07/01/2017 but when I went to sign the papers for the venue they realized they were booked on that date. I wanted to use this venue and since it was a holiday weekend we went with a Sunday wedding.

I don't care. This is stupid. If date was that important to you, it would have always been important, and you should have taken this into consideration before you even booked a venue

I kind of see what you mean, OP. I wouldn't change my actual wedding over a date, but I do understand liking some dates better than others.

While I've come to love my date and the season I'll be getting married, I originally wanted a Christmas-y wedding in mid-December. It's my favorite time of year and I loved having 12-something as the date. Unfortunately, also due to guest convenience, and future convenience for ourselves, we realized December was not the best time of year. As much as I loved it, I let the whole idea go and now have fully embraced a different kind of wedding in March. I'm still kind of sad I'll never have my December date and Christmas wedding, but I'm thrilled our families and friends will be able to be there and that we'll now always have something to celebrate in the spring (almost all of our family birthdays and events are in October/November/December).

Just embrace your date Smiley smile

Taking the planet into consideration and cosmic and spacial understanding takes no trying on my part.

Sounds like a shitload of extra effort, tbh.

No trying... except stressing out about it to the point of making a whole thread on a wedding forum?

Takes no trying- except here we are- having a full blown conversation about why you don't like a wedding date.

That seems like it's "trying" to me.

it's certainly trying a lot of people around here- that's for damn sure.
