i am so excited but I don't like the date we set. would it be weird to ask fiancé to have our anniversary on a different date, maybe we could turn in marriage license together on a different date? we already have a nonrefundable deposit put down so there is not much we can do about ceremony date.....

Some of the comments are cracking me up.

Anyway, I can't fully relate because when I first clicked on this forum, I was thinking "But it's just a date?" As I read more, I understand a little better. Still confused as to why you picked it in the first place, but then again, some people pick a wedding dress and later have doubts about it.

If it helps at all, I really wanted an October date but ultimately went with 9/30. My venue allows guests to go outside during the reception if they want to hang out under the gazebo or just get some fresh air, and I didn't want it to be too chilly, so I went with September. But you know what? It ended up being okay. When one of my bridesmaids got her school schedule, she found out she had a big event going on the first weekend of October (which is the date I was going to choose). Another bridesmaid also has something going on that weekend because of school. Granted, they both said they would've got exempted because they knew about my wedding before they received their syllabus, but it's nice to see that they don't have to go through the trouble.

Plus, I'm just so ready for the wedding to be here and the planning to be over. I'm totally okay with it being a week earlier than I initially wanted.

Why don't you like the date.. aren't you the one who chose it?

A date will be special no matter what, because it's the day you vowed to spend forever together. I wouldn't get married on that date and have a different anniversary date. Move your date to a day you do like, or stick with this one.

Future MrsJ, she explained that. Please read comments before reviving threads that have nicely died away.

I'm weird about odd numbers. So I can totally understand.

You could get officially married at City Hall on the date of your choice then do the formal ceremony and reception on the day you have booked. I've heard of some couples doing that just to get the legal part out of the way so they can enjoy their actual wedding day more.

@September, How much legal stuff really needs to get out of the way that sucks enjoyment out of the wedding day? Signing your name?

I get what you mean. Not a fan of odd numbers. I'm 5/18/18 and I love it because of the 18s lol so I get ya.

I hate my date not because of the numerology thing but because its a "holiday". After being explained to what "holiday" it was I just face palm everytime someone giggles at it.

Maybe you can have your wedding on the 25th without the license and then go to the court house on the day you want to ACTUALLY be married on. Idk if that's a thing but maybe its a good route.

I honestly just want OP to analyze my wedding date now with her numerology knowledge. We're actually getting ready to change ours to April 27, 2018 due to an unexpected venue change.

TELL ME WHAT MY DATE MEEEEEEEEANS... (seriously tho, I wanna know)

We got engaged on 10/16/16 & getting married on 9/16/17 so I guess you could say our date is sort of special to us? Not really though because literally we chose the date based off the fact that our venue only had 2 dates left. Our day or mid November. I'm located in Tennessee so I definitely didn't want an outside cold wedding in November. So September it was! I don't think you should dislike your date. Take it for what it's worth & celebrate it every year as one of the most special days of your life. Smiley smile

Yes you can do the legal stuff on a different date. We're doing it legal marriage a few weeks after the wedding. We believe strongly in keeping church and state separate. Talk with your officiant about what they may be able to do to accommodate your desires.

Well my fiancé and I talked about it and he was pretty chill. told me the way he thinks about the date is 25 in cents is a quarter, and an 8th note in music is a quarter of 32. the 32 is pulling strings but it was his correlation with the date. he's a music weirdo and I'm a crazy mathologist. haha. sorry lovrofthearts, I wish I knew more! I just Google number meanings and things that were important to me like the moon cycle that day. I love the number 27 though, and will be 27 in a month! I'll try to find the website and send yah what I find

It says 27 is about philanthropy and compassion in a cooperative atmoshphere. tolerance, teamwork. 2+7=9 9 is considered a number above all others, heaven, wisdom, when multiplied 9 always reproduces itself, pretty astonishing, no other number quite like it!! so I'd say my favorite piece of advise on this forum, embrace your date!!

If you chose the date for guests' convenience, that's not going to change because of personal misgivings. You just h e to decide what your priorities are. If having the right date is a priority, then you'll have to be willing to lose your deposit and move it to a day that's not as convenient for your guests, but that feels better to you.

    Thyia,

Ask for the original date that you wanted! FH and I are getting married on a Friday! Our family and friends that love and care for us will be there no matter the date... I love numerology too!
