How to thank someone for a very large wedding gift.

I am trying to write my thank you's for my wedding, and I am unsure how to thank people that gave extremely generous monetary gifts (we're talking $500 ). I do not want to use the standard "thank you for the generous gift", so can you please help me craft a Thank You that is appropriate for their gift?

Thank you so much for the incredibly generous gift. We are looking forward to using it toward ________. We are so glad that you could share in our special day. It was wonderful to see you, blah blah blah.

Dear __________,

Thank you so much for being a part of our wedding day. Your special gift was so incredibly generous that we are almost at a loss for words. "Thank you" just doesn't seem to be enough, but please know that we are so grateful, and always will be.

Telling them what it's going to be used for is very helpful if you're looking for ways to convey gratitude. I'm with Laura.

I like what Laura and Centerpiece said. A $500 gift from one person could be just as generous as a $50 gift from another.
