You, FH, and your parents at the courthouse. Go to a really nice restaurant afterwards.

Potluck, Facebook invites, cashbar, honeyfund, frienors. It's easy to plan a 300 guest wedding with $1000

Does that include rings, marriage license, the dress, and all? Is so JOP.

I live in Baltimore too. With $1000, go to the courthouse and take immediate family out for a nice dinner.

Look on pinterest. I think I read an article they did it at a park, friend became officiated. They served hotdogs and made it a carnival theme.

If that includes rings, you're going to need to go to Wal-Mart or Target for a ring. Unless you have a sprawling backyard, sound system, plates and cutlery and fridge space, you are out of luck.

And don't even think about making your own cake on that budget. I bought all the supplies to make my friend's cake and spent close to $500-$600 on pans, decorating tools, ingredients, etc.

Also, you have more than a year to save. If you save even $50 a month for the next year, that could get you a better dress or a very low budget photographer.

For us to get married at the JOP and License, it's $600. So you are obviously not budgeting for dress, flowers, or guests.

I live in Baltimore as well and to be honest can't see that happening unless you do justice of the peace and take a few people out to eat afterwards. I am having about 35 people to my rehearsal dinner, no frills or another and that is over 1k.

Hi Robyn, welcome to WW! I am also a Baltimore bride - I live in Baltimore County and that's also where we got married. Honestly, $1,000 will not go far in this area. My rehearsal dinner cost more than that. I suggest buying a white dress from a department store, going to the courthouse (in Baltimore Co. a marriage license is $35), and then going out to dinner with your parents. If you want to do more (photographer for an hour, bouquet) you just have to save more. If you aren't planning to get married for over a year, you should be able to save in that time! Honestly, even if you save only $100 a month that's another $1,200 to your budget! Good luck.

Also, I suggest changing your avatar to something other than the rings. They are associated with spam/trolls so it will help you get more responses to your posts.

I am not sure if they do this in Maryland, but can you have the justice of the peace maybe marry you at the harbor in front of a small group and have a nice dinner afterwards. My friend had their pastor meet them on the beach, marry them, and the families had a great dinner. Her and her husband spent the night at he embassy suites in which they upgraded them to the top suite when they found out it was their wedding night. She said it was the best time of her life. Then they moved into their new house.
