Annapolis Wedding Chapel, lovely place for a small indoor or outdoor wedding.

I really don't understand the people giving blatantly snarky/bad advice. OP (as far as I've read) has not displayed interest in having a wedding where she can't host her guests. She's simply asking for ideas for her 1K budget. That's it. Unless she has posted a thread elsewhere in poor taste, I think people are being unfairly rude.

Normally I would thumbs up a good smart-assery (or dole it myself!), but it's not really warranted here.

There's been a lot of good advice, I have nothing to add, really. Pick what is important to you OP, and do just that. With your budget, I would personally elope or have my parents and our siblings to the courthouse and have a nice brunch or dinner. My wedding dress only cost $200, you can find many for FAR less. Look at bridesmaid dresses in cream or white (or whatever color you enjoy, if you want to wear something special). Bouquets are not necessary, but if you'd like some florals, stop at a grocery store or the florist. I would personally skip the professional pictures, but have a family member videotape/take pictures. You can always have a professional shoot done down the road if that is important to you.

If there are certain things you've decided you just MUST have, saving up, getting a part time job or selling some old things are the best way. You can walk dogs (sites like dogvacay or rover) or run errands for people (I think the website is called Fiverr?). You can deliver pizzas, bus tables, or sign up for a weekend of handing out flyers. You can find a lot of this stuff on craigslist (just be sure it isn't a scam).

ETA: I saw that you want to invite 50 people in your last thread. Did you not like the responses you received there? Anyways, 50 guests isn't going to happen on 1K. It's just not. I'm sorry. I would cap it at 5-6 people, depending on how nice a meal you want to have.

Ask friends to be friendors, buy your meat now and store it in the freezer till your wedding THEN self-cater.

I'm stuck, on 14 months away and a 1000 budget. That is a lot of time to pick up some extra bucks.

With 50 people and 1000 bucks?

    Cupcakes.

You get married at the courthouse and then go out to a nice restaurant after.

What part of Baltimore are you in?

There are so many great restaurants with private rooms. You could do a great seafood feast for your family and still be under budget if you listen to some of the suggestions other posters mentioned. Just be careful where you go, last time we went to Tio Pepe's our bill was $1,000 for 15 people. We could have gone to Carson's (on the water) for less than that and drank our faces off.

Actually now that I think of it, you could even go to a marina and get married for a decent price. our friend is the 'Commander' or something at Baltimore Yacht Club and he somehow has the power to marry people. Instant beautiful scenery!!

Elope! Have a small, private ceremony in a beautiful location with family & close friends (ie: under 20 people) then go out to a nice dinner!

Check out Chase Court's website under elopements and small weddings you'll find their prices for ceremonies (not sure how many people you have) and reception packages. Otherwise look into elopement packages if you want something more than your typical courthouse wedding.

Potluck is a great idea. You can get a 20 lb bag of sugar and some kool-aid packets. Have you ever tried to get a payday loan to cover some of your wedding expenses? I know a few people who did it and their cash bar, popluck, Honeyfund weddings turned out perfectly.

Robyn I am really confused by your answer. There's no way to host 50 people for $1000, if that's what you just suggested.
