How soon did you take engagement pics?

Cool, I just didnt want to seem like maybe I was rushing to do them too quickly! Thank you!

Oh, another thing i forgot to mention. lol. This is going to sound really dumb probably, but, what do people generally wear to take the pictures?

We usually do 2 outfits one casual and one dressy. I would recommend a nice looking casual outfit you want to look like yourself only better plus how often can you get professional pictures taken?

We haven't done ours yet and the wedding is 7.5 months away. What it really comes down to is we don't have a clue as to where we want to take them or what to wear. Plus, the summer is SO BUSY! We are going to try to do it at the end of the month now. Even though I know we are fine with the timeline, I feel behind.

We got engaged in February, were going to take the pics this month, but wound up getting them in July. Our photographers were super slackers so I'm glad we did it earlier. I want photo booth save the dates so it works out better this way.

We waited til the last minute, about a month before the wedding--not recommended....seems to me that 6-10 months before would be ideal........

We just took ours last month & we've been engaged for almost a year. The wedding is next month.

He proposed on April 10th and we did our e-pics on April 11th! I was visiting the east coast (from the west) for a week so we had to work fast. After that trip I didn't see him til a week before the wedding in August! )

@mahoganieyes Thats cool! I want to get married on a date he can always remember! lol. Thats why i picked it.

@lilly and NorCalbride My fh is in the National Guard but he isnt scheduled to deploy until probably 2013 or 2014. His unit just came back, but he didnt deploy with them. I can only imagine how hard that is! I bet when you see them though, it just makes it a million times better!

We got engaged 08/08/10. Our wedding is 06/11/11 and we took our engagement pictures last Friday. Im a destination wedding so we wanted them to send the STD asap.

We were OFFICIALLY engaged 6/4. Engagement photos were done 7/15 and our wedding is 4/8.

We are the "king and queen of procrastination nation" as my mom says, so we got engaged 7/03/09 and took E pics 05/31/10 and got married 08/14/10. I didn't want to use them for anything but to hang up in my house though... we did silly pictures for our STD's that I edited myself...

We got engaged on 7/7/10 and our e-pics are scheduled for 10/23/10.

Engaged on 12/29/09 getting our e-pics done on 01/10/11 and getting married on 11/23/11

It is always recommended to take the engagement photos once you are ready ahead of the wedding day. Since you may need guest book, or a sign-up poster from the photographer. By doing this early, you can save money on the rush order and fix any potential problems on those things if there are any.

As David mentions, I usually advise my couples to do their E-Session as soon as they feel they are ready... The idea is for them to have as much time possible to choose their photos, do their STDs (if using photos for them), and design/approve the guest book (if they choose to have it done)...
