Mine were 260 for bustle and hem. I am going for my second sitting on August 18th and considering having cups sewn into the dress. I need all the help I can get with the girls. Lol.

Mine came out to a little less than $400. I had it shorten, taken in, and then bustled

I am from LI, I used a FANTASTIC lady in Franklin Square...my dress was a ton of work and she charged me 300.....please let me know if you want info! She is AMAZING.

Also - to alter my moms dress she charged 30 dollars......just to give you an idea of how reasonable she is.

My dress was $1850 and alterations were $400. What saved me was not needing a hem. (Shoutout to David Tutera for offering custom length)

    Alterations included:

-taking the dress in a fair amount

    -18 point, 2 layer bustle

    - cups

    - shortening the straps

At David's Bridal, mine was considered "couture" level because the chiffon has raw edges. They took it in at the chest and sides a bit, hemmed it, and added a bustle. That was about $250-300

Mine was 80 for hem and bustle buttons. I suggest finding a local person that can do it a small mom and pop shop

Alterations for me were over 700 I think. The dress shop ordered my gown 2 sizes too large...

I only paid $20 for my alterations. Luckily, with my shoes and already being slightly tall, the hem was perfect. Only thing that was changed was adding cups because it's a mostly backless dress.

I got my dress from David's Bridal, and I also had my alterations done there. The consultant told me while we were looking that the most the hem could cost was about $150 I believe.

$390. This is a set fee with the boutique I bought my dress at. It includes everything including adding cups and bustle

I only got a hem of about an inch and a 5 point bustle and it was $210 which I think is on the pricey side for the area I live. I think the price will reflect more of the area you live.

Mine came out to $600 too, I needed a TON of work done to mine though (for reference, the seamstress charges $65 an hour).

You should absolutely not skip the bustle.

You should also not have bought a dress over your budget, especially without asking if alterations were included, but obviously that ship has sailed. Hopefully another bride can learn from this.
