My dress was $499 b/c it was a sample so I got it 50% off, but that also meant it was like 3-4 sizes to big. To have it taken in, straps shortened, hemmed and bustled I am paying $350! I am in RI! I know I am getting a great deal on my alterations!

Mine are a part of the cost of my dress because I paid $150 upfront to have it made to measure.

    Holy shit these prices.

My guys are getting their suits from a tiny little local shop in the town we purchased our land in and for that I get 25% off my alterations. I just had my appointment Monday and asked her to give me a ballpark range.

I'm getting my dress shortened and she's adding the thing that connects my train to my butt (is that the bustle?) and said it would be very slightly over $100 before the discount.

My alterations were $240 to hem, take the shoulders up, and add a 2 point bustle. I went through David's Bridal for everything.

$43 for both myself and my flower girl. The flower girl had her sleeves shortened and her dress taken out in the stomach. I had the same thing plus the area by my breasts sown a little more tightly together.

I asked on facebook for recommendations. I found someone in my city who has been doing it for over 30 years, working out of her own home. I didn't even get a quote from David's.

Mine is $350 for a hem, bustle, cups in the bra area, taken in at the arm pits to tighten around the chest and let out a hair so I can breathe lol. After seeing these prices I am realizing mine isnt as outrageous as I thought.. it still sucks though :/

$260 to take in sides, cups added so I don't have to wear a bra, hem dress, and have it bustled.

Trying going to smaller seamstresses and alteration places that don't work in a bridal shop.

Mine is $80. I found a local tailor who doesn't specialize in bridal, but does have good reviews for bridal.

My dress was only $125 on clearance at Davids bridal, and I didn't want to pay as much for alterations as I paid for the dress.

My dress is short so no hems or bustle. It just needed to be taken in at chest Smiley sad and let out a tiny bit at the back.

If i had lace or beading I probably would have gone to a bridal store, but it is a pretty simple dress.

I got lucky and the dress I choose needs no alterations except a simple hem. So my total will be less than $150Smiley winking,

$160 - made an ankle length dress to knee length, added lace sleeves, lowered the neckline, added a belt and took in the fabric buckling in the back.

My dress was $550 and I paid $220 for alterations at Davids Bridal. I went in there thinking it would be much more.

$110--took in the bust, added a 3 pin 5 ribbon bustle, replaced my elastic straps, attached my off-shoulder straps to the elastic straps, pinned down the lace that was aiming up and everywhere.
