How much did your wedding dress cost?

I have been having doubts about the dress I already bought. The friend who was with me kinda pressured me into getting it. I'm gonna sell it and buy a new one. I have fallen in LOVE with a dress, but it is $7,000. ...just curious to see what you ladies paid. Here's the dress! (Isn't she lovely!!!) ...

Sarah S: That dress is GORGEOUS! And mine is Rivini. I'm in NYC too by the way!!!

I did go to Davids Bridal first. But they don't have anything that gives me what I'm looking for. I do think $7000 is ridiculous, but since FH's family gave us a $10,000 check, I don't feel too bad about it. Idk what to do. FH thinks I'm crazy and if someone told me the same thing I'm telling you guys, I'd call them crazy too! I'm searching for a dress less than $2000, but I really want this one!

I'm thinking since it's a new dress, 2012 collection, next year someone may sell it for less on preownedweddingdresses.com or oncewed.com. Hopefully I can hold off 'til then. lol

My Mother bought my dress for me. I am so lucky that she was willing to get this one. It was more than she wanted to spend but she saw how happy I was and knew it was the one for me. We walked out the door paying $1,077. I happened to luck out that day and get 10% off because that designer was having a trunk show! Does not include alterations. Love my dress though!

I am having two dresses. My gown cost me $1600 with tax, and my reception dress will be coming in at around $230.

@FMrsGarguilo, have you looked at getting a dress custom made? I've heard of custom dresses starting in the $2000 range, though i don't know what the prices around you are like. Just a thought, you could get a dress custom made similar to the one you found online, but better because it would be made for you.

I'm not sure which dress I'm going to be ordering yet, but I know it will probably cost me anywhere from 100-300 dollars and I'm going to most likely be getting a foreverbridal gown.

$450 for each of our dresses, and about $100 each for alterations. Having something that was obviously a "wedding dress" was important to NotFroofy, but she didn't feel the need for a high end one. And I would have been content just to wear a dress I already owned, except that I wanted to coordinate with NotFroofy.

I am in the process of making my dress. I have spent $275 on all the fabric and notions for a muslin dress and the final dress. I might end up spending a little bit more for supplies for a bustle if I don't have everything I need, but I won't know til I get there. I've also been debating on whether or not to do a veil, so I could possibly spend as much as $300 on everything, but I'm hoping not to buy much else.

Mine was $530 with tax. I haven't had any alterations yet, but I don't anticipate those to be much. I really just need a bustle. So probably close to $600 when all is said and done. I wouldn't allow myself to look at anything over $1000 because I didn't want to fall in love with something out of budget. My mom paid for my dress and I didn't want her to have to spend a fortune.

My first dress that I kind of felt pressured to buy cost me $850.

Then when I was with my FSIL, we went looking and I actually tried on a dress I fell in love with and felt that it was the one. With all that said, i only had to spend $850 for that dress too.

I ended up returning the first dress and losing $80 out the deal but my thought was, it was worth losing the $80 to get the dress I fell in love with and not something I kept second guessing about.

Since I got a dress I never dreamed I ever wanted to wear, I also bought a second reception dress that I am recreating that I spent $200 on. So total, I spent $1050, without alternations.

I say, do what feels right and if its in your budget then do it! That feeling is undeniable and I don't regret going over my initial budget or losing out on money for the first dress. Good luck!!
