How much did you spend on your bridesmaids/groomsmen gifts?

brister30, on August 13, 2014 at 3:56 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 29

I am just trying to lock down a budget of some sort. I am thinking about $150 each? What did you guys do?

I think I'm around $100 each. Plus I'm paying for my girls hair/make up

We are doing $100-150 depending on what we decide to go with. My FFIL made a lawn game for each of them in his wood shop and they're about $100 each so that and maybe a small bottle of alcohol will be their gifts. The girls will probably get Toms and a bag with small stuff. I'm also going to have people to do hair and make up, but they don't have to use them if they don't want to. Not 100% yet.

I spend $20 for each girl. I got the gifts during one of the TK sales. Otherwise it would of been about $40 a piece. I kept it simply and got them personalized tote bags and personalized waffle wraps to wear while we're getting ready in the hotel the morning of the wedding.

FH paid for the vest and tie that his guys have to wear to the wedding.

We will be doing around $50 each. We'd like to do more, but we just can't afford any more than that, so we hope our wedding party will understand. We recently moved and I'm in school working on my M.S., so we don't have a huge budget for wedding. As long as its personal and unique to each attendant so that they know how special they are to you and how grateful you are to have them standing up for your wedding, I don't think the price tag should matter.

Ditto to the above! Spending about $100 each and then getting their hair done. They are on their own if they want makeup.

I think I read on Lauren Conrad's website that she thinks it's a good rule of thumb to spend around half of the bridesmaid's dress cost on each bridesmaid's gift. I think it's a pretty good guideline, too, because it ties in to how much you're requesting they spend.

I'm not sure and I'm really not thinking about it. I'm just going to buy them some nice gifts. I can't use the dress rule because they were all allowed to choose their own which ranged from 120 to 200 bucks.

Shop for them as you would if it was her birthday. Don't give yourself a random amount you have to spend on them. Don't clearly make one girls gift extravagant and the other a shot glass, but the arbitrary rules are how people wind up with robes that say bridesmaid. For example, for one of my girls I am "adopting" a red panda for via the WWF and for one I am getting a Swarovski bracelet, both cost around the same amount of money, but both are extremely personalized which is the most important part. They aren't props they are your nearest and dearest.

I'm spending roughly $80 each for their totes bags with the items that will be in them. I decided to add a special gift for each one that is specific to just them and our history together, so that addition will vary by BM.

Their jewelry is their gift and I honestly don't even remember how much it cost.

I'm covering their dresses, hair and makeup, and gave each a massage certificate though.

We spent approx. $200. We only have a MOH and BM and they are husband wife, so we're paying for their overnight stay at the hotel ($160) and are giving them a gift collection gift card and gift album (approx $45).

At the end of the day, I budgeted $200 for all 3 girls. I came in under budget and spent about $130. They are getting a monogrammed tote that my aunt is making, some nail polish and a robe to wear for the day of. I want to get them things that would use again, and not set it and forget about it.

Altogether $215 each on bridesmaids I bought them pretty plum sugar robes, a necklace, earrings ( with freshwater pearls ), made each a scrapbook and bought them each pretty heart shaped umbrella b/ c I wanted photos with them and thought they were practical and cute

Groomsmen - about 20 dollars each they are my fbils and haven't done much for the wedding soooo thinking alcohol and cigars is the way to go

So far it's about $125 each, probably $175 when all is said and done.

I found cute sets of earrings on sale at BHLDN, originally $80, but spent $32. I also plan to get them robes for the wedding day. It will make cute pictures and be useful after the wedding. These will cost about $27 each. I am also planning to pay for their hair and makeup at $100 each.

I spent about $150 on their jewelry (damn you kate spade and all of your cuteness!) and then I got them each some super cute makeup bags as a thank you for putting on the bridal shower. I also wrote them each a personal thank you card. Hope that helps!

I couldn't give you an actual amount, but we didn't spend alot. We are on a very tight budget, so is our bridal party. The dresses were only 65, and they picked up shoes to match. Groomsmen tuxs were only 100 with shoes included. FH and I have made our group shirts (tanks for the ladies, tees for the men) with their name and position on the back, as well as team Bride and team Groom on the front. We will be wearing them for the bachelor/ette party. Also, I made my girl's necklaces and we are making the party personalized glasses to drink from. All in all it's not alot of money, but it's from the heart with alot of work put into it.

Like 100 dollars each girl. Groomsmen were about the same I think.

This got to be a little out of hand. I think it'll be about $200 per person.

$100-$150 each, I got almost everything on sale, if it was full retail it would have been close to $175 to $200 I think. But we felt that since most of them are from out of state and spending $1k+ to be here and it was in our budget it was worth it.
