How much did you pay to rent church for ceremony?

Kristie, on October 12, 2016 at 11:30 PM Posted in Planning 0 44

My dream church is asking for 1,400 to rent it for about 1hr and 30mins. Family n FH thinks its a lot for just the church...need help.

Are they doing any kind of premarital counseling? I'm catholic and my church charges $750 to cover the costs of the rehearsal, ceremony, music, FOCCUS testing and premarital counseling courses. I thought that was a bit much but jeeze, 1,400? What do you get for that price? Is it just to rent the church and have the priest officiate?

WOW. We aren't paying anything for our church because we are members. We are just giving our pastor an offering of $200. This must be a historic church or something. I can't fathom paying that much.

Is this church covering the reception cost as well, that is too pricey unless it is a historic church

That's crazy!!! Are you getting married in Saint Patrick's Cathedral?! Local churches shouldn't be that much.

We're paying about $800 (includes cantor, organist, altar servers, etc).

We're paying $700 for the ceremony and reception at my church. It's not crazy gorgeous or anything. Most churches in my area charge $300 for the ceremony and don't provide a reception option.

Dang! We aren't getting married in a church, but my FH's sister just got married this past May and it was only $125. But that's in Indiana.

Its not a historic church. Im located in miami florida. North miami area. My church rents from another church. Based on the info my pastor gave me its just the church nothing else. The church is big and i literally cried when i walked in cuz it was just as i dreamt it would be...everyone prices sounds perfect. I wish they would lower the price.

That's a little pricey for just the church itself but if you can afford it then do it!

I'm Catholic and we are just giving a donation to the church, they don't require a certain amount to book the place. We will probably do $500-$700 though.

Our Catholic church didn't have a set donation. We gave $400 and $250 for the musician. Another local Catholic church was $1,000 though

Ours is $475 which covers renting the church, the priest, the coordinator (to make sure everyone does is where they're supposed to be, doing what they're supposed to be) for rehearsal and ceremony, music, and foccus quiz. We have to pay extra for the engaged encounter.
