How much are you spending on your wedding shoes?

Private User, on December 19, 2013 at 3:17 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 36

Hi Ladies!

This is my first of many posts - I'm sure. Congratulations to you all!

I'm 100 days out from my wedding day and so excited! It's crazy because there are some items that I am been adamant about cutting back on and there are also items that I want to splurge on.

One of my potential splurges is for shoes. I found the perfect shoes online. The problem is the cost because they are Manolo Blahniks! Saks has the shoes 30% off but they're still extremely expensive.

There's a part of me saying Girl you're nutz for even thinking of spending that much but then there's that other part of me that's saying Go for it! You work hard, you got a good raise and you're getting a Christmas bonus so you deserve it!

What do you think of these shoes (pic attached)?

AND how much are you spending on your wedding shoes and where are you getting them from?

I have big feet! I wear a size 11 so I'm shopping online for a few pair to take to my first fitting.

Thanks All.

I spent $40 at Modcloth. Here they are! I love them and they're so comfortable! I never wear heels, so I got a nice little kitten heel. They are my something blue and I'm wearing them with a tea length dress so they'll really POP!

I love the bling on yours! Very pretty.

I'm into comfort and I'm not really into brand names so I just pick the shoes that are most comfortable and have the look I'm going for. Besides a few photos, shoes are hardly seen.

I'll probably spend around $100 for shoes but I definitely won't spend more than $200. That said, it's nice to treat yourself to something once in a while and if shoes are your priority and you can afford it, I'd say go for it.

    Congratulations and Welcome to WW!!

I love those shoes, and was looking into DIYing a pair (there are some tutorials online), but then I remembered I suck at arts and crafts. They are definitely out of my budget, but I know a few women on the boards have spent $300-600 on shoes (and probably one or two who have spent more). Personally, I spent $79 on my shoes, and depending on what happens with some other budget issues, there is a pair of $250 boots I would like for when we are doing pictures (the ground where we will do pictures is rocky, and so I won't be able to wear my heels)-- so, that's like $330 total for shoes-- still probably way less than those beauties Smiley winking

Anyway, my opinion is that if you can pay for them with actual money (i.e., without charging them), and you won't have to adjust your budget elsewhere (or, if you do, the adjustment is reasonable and practical), then go for it! They are gorgeous and they don't look too uncomfortable Smiley smile

Mine are Manolos. They are a vintage design though, so I ended up finding them in a consignment store in a walled off case. They were 300. I drooled over them on a random trip and my mama surprised me with them. They are a deep teal with a copper ribbon running around the top. Smiley smile

You may also be able to resell them at a pre-owned wedding site, like tradesy.com or preownedweddingdresses.com, to try and get some of your money back.

Those shows are super cute and if you can afford them, I say get them. I don't have my shoes yet but they were $30, they are ballet flats and I am having them dyed blue (so they can be my something blue). I went with flats because if I wear heels, I would have had to order (and pay for) extra length on my dress.

    Welcome to WW! :-)

I'm an inch or so taller than my fiance, believe it or not. I won't be wearing heels; I'm wearing bedazzled flat sandals, since we're getting married in June. I haven't found them yet, though.

Thanks for all the responses and shout out to my date twin @Lacie23!

I found a website that has those shoes for $800 instead of the $1295 they typically go for! I know pure insanity!!!

I LOVE the look of these shoes but I really need something comfortable, too. I wonder if the more expensive shoes are any more comfortable. The most I've ever spent on heels is maybe $150 so this is totally new to me! I have my dream dress so I want my dream shoes to go with it but not many people will even see my shoes under my dress.

I could afford them but I keep thinking where else that money could go since we are paying for everything ourselves.

I'll keep these in the back of my mind and keep looking in the meantime. If any of you ladies happen to come across any shoes that look remotely similar to these, please let me know.

    Thanks again :-)

I also have big feet... 11 wide! I couldn't find anything I wanted so designed mine and ordered off a site online. They ended up being about 150 pounds sterling ($245 usd approx.). I'm not a huge shoe person, but it was worth it to get shoes that fit, would match my dress and that I liked!

I'm going to borrow my shoes! We are wearing cowboy boots and I don't have any. I don't want to go buy a pair of expensive boots just to wear for the wedding.

I recommend to anyone to get their wedding shoes from Zappos. They have excellent customer service and even though they are an online retailer, you do receive your shoes the next day. If you don't like them its so easy to return. Shipping is always free and is always next day. Also, my friend got her wedding shoes from them and after her wedding the company SENT HER FLOWERS! How sweet is that?!
