Ok so i am having a venue diliama we where talking to a event coorinator and everything seemed to be running smooth until the other day i called to see where we are in booking a house for the reception and the ceromony because we are having a beach wedding and first she told me we couldnt book anything until the new contracts went out in jan but than she emailed me the next day and said we could start booking something now so she sent me a list of houses but it's nothing in our price range and they are not even on the beach so than some of my friends said they would go in on a house with us instead of them staying in a hotel for the weekend they would just stay with us .so than i called the lady back and told her we could go ahead and book one and than she told me sorry but we want be able to book anything until aug because we only want to book it for the weekend and the house owners only want weekly rentals ..so now i am having to search a whole other beach because thats the only

We booked a Mountain vacation rental for our venue. We booked it last month and wedding is in May. The longer you wait the less flexability you have in choice of dates/times/ vendors. It really does depend on where you are located though. Sometimes smaller cities have less competition in other brides but may also have fewer vendors available for your time and day. Good luck! I searched for a long time to find outs. Seriously looked at at least a thousand rentals online before finding the perfect one.

Normally they wont book weekends until the off season. But sept after labor day should be off season. I know of places that only book a full week. You could just come for the weekend but you pay for the whole week.

I think I would call around and see what information you can get. I can't imagine all the places not willing to rent out a weekend.

Most places won't allow you to book 1 year from you wedding date. After that it becomes very difficult to get your 1st choice. You're getting married during wedding season (June, August, September, and October) I'm not from NC, but I found these on theknot.com. Hope this helps.

I booked mine over a year in advance and when I started to look at places, they were already starting to fill up.

We're getting married in Vegas next October, but we're having a local reception in Dec. '13--we are already in the process of booking the Dolphin Gallery at the Indianapolis Zoo. It's off season for a wedding, so I wasn't worried about other weddings, but I was afraid that our date and time might get taken by corporate holiday parities, for example.

We booked ours about 13 months in advance and we had to act fast because there was another couple who looked at an hour after us who wanted the same date.

Our wedding is June 5, 2014 and we booked our venue back in April. Our top choice venue is one of the most popular in CT and they were already booking 2014 when we booked. My opinion is not to book anything too early but when it comes to the venue it is never too early.

Since we only had one choice for our DW wedding weekend, I asked the owner(a friend) which weekend in the fall would work best for her. She gave us our wedding date. : )

My daughter wanted a very popular local venue, the Mendenhall Inn. In September of 2011, the only dates she could get for 2012 for their Grand Ballroom was in August. So, a year in advance, the Grand Ballroom was fully booked for a Saturday evening wedding. The only dates available were in August and in November of 2012 and even then, she beat out another bride who wanted her date, August 11, 2012.

Bottomline, if you are getting married in a popular month and you want something very specific, book ASAP. Sometimes though, some venues won't book more than a year before because the price of food can change.

    Good luck!
