How long till you received RSVP's?

Leesha, on May 26, 2015 at 12:46 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 24

Ya ya I know I sent out my invites early... I also know it has only been one week since I sent them out.. but I am curious...

After you sent out your invitations , how long after did you start getting your RSVP's back?

My mom and grandma have to drive past my house everyday, and they cant fill out the RSVP and stick it in my mail box on their drive by?? grrr...

I gave my guests a small letter with our website on the invitation, and I have had two people try to RSVP through there... I politely told them how I am glad they are coming but i would still like to get the RSVP card.. None of them had a problem with that, but wheeeen will i get an RSVP in my mail box??!?! ahahah I am soo impatient... I check my mail box everyday!!!

The only person who sees your wedding as a priority is you. Give them a chance to breathe. Everyone has busy lives. We got our first RSVP 2 days after sending the invites out but that was very excited friends of ours haha I would say about 2 weeks before you start getting any but then there will be a lull with none and it will pick up again closer to RSVP date ETA your date is still super far away so people probably don't know what their plans are that far in advance

It varies a lot... Ours was an email RSVP, so that made things faster. We had people RSVP a few days after they got the invite, and people who, to this day, haven't RSVP'd. Word of advice - there'll be people who won't RSVP by the requested date, that you'll have to contact to ask if they're coming or not. And if you have guests like mine, some will say "oh I might come but it all depends on how my house renovations are coming along by that weekend" lol.

I had about 8 back in the first week. A couple in the mail and then the rest online (We had mail or online RSVP options). The first few weeks had the most. The week before the RSVP date as a close second. However we had about 45% of the invites to track down as of the RSVP date.

I'm doing online RSVP and I sent them out early too, (2 weeks ago because my hotel blocks will be reduced as time goes by if they aren't filled). I got 25 already. The problem about sending them out too early is that there is a long time for anticipating who will come to your wedding (and also for me guest list drama).

We finally sent ours last week as well, fh has been asking me about every 4 hours when I think we will start getting them back. I told him that since it was Memorial day weekend last weekend I am assuming it will take a little longer than usual even for the excited people. We have gotten a handle of text messages from friends asking if they needed to fill it out since we knew they were coming. :/

Hi date twin!! I sent out my invites a week from last Saturday and started receiving RSVPs 2 days later. I have received more than 10 RSVPs back already in the first week, but we also have a large guest list so we are still waiting on a ton more.

We sent ours out 4/30 (we're having a DW) and got a lot the first week and it's slowed down since. I also got a lot of "no's" at first and am now getting more yeses.

You did not send them too early - My wedding is 8/15 and mailing mine Monday. I haven't sent my invitations and I am so curious to know how long it'll take before I start receiving them! Lol

Trust me... if people let you know via email, text, website, etc. count their response the same as you would the R.S.V.P. card. You'll have your share of people that don't send them back. Save yourself the time and stress of chasing down so many cards at the end. A response is a response is a response.

I got one a couple days after we sent the invites out - it was from a couple that got married last year... They understand the struggle....

    Another Date Twin!

We sent our invites out on Friday. We are figuring our invites won't arrive to their homes until today. I am super excited to get RSVPs. We handed them to immediate family members. FBIL has already handed his RSVP card back. It was very exciting. Then I realized I didn't have a plan for how to organize the responses. So I hope they don't start rolling in until next week to give me time to create a plan.

@Precious, I made a file on excel. I made a couple boxes next to my guests names, and when i sent them out, i checked them off, when i received the RSVP i checked them off, and wrote how many are attending. ( I have a paper copy, and a computer copy....)

    HEre is an example

I sent mine last week as well and I've received 2 back so far. I noticed it took longer for the invites to get where they needed to go locally, so I can only imagine how long it will take to get farther away. Not sure how heavy your invites were? Also, I gave my neighbor hers and she sent her RSVP back via mail (an inside joke here) and it took 3 days to get it! I have no idea why because normally it would have been here next day. If I don't start seeing them next week, I'll probably start getting nervous. lol

I want to add that all of my responses thus far have been accepting. I am getting nervous that all the declines won't come till the end, including those who verbally declined before we even sent out the invitations.
