How long did you wait to get engaged?

A little over 2.5 years but we knew right away, we were living together about a month after we started dating.

We will be married by a year

Almost 7 years! lol i was 15 and he was 17 when we first started dating. He asked me in May and our 7 year anni was in July. So almost 7 months. and were having a 1 year engagement.figured what was one more year, already waited 7!

15 months after we started dating and will marrying 3 years and one month after. Really ready to be his wife.

We started dating right after high school (had been friends in high school) but didn't want to do the committed long-distance thing during college. After a couple years, we both realized each other was still "The One" and we got back together. We lived together and apart (for school and work) all over the country and abroad for about 10 years before we got engaged! We're not terribly traditional but there's something pretty exciting about actually planning a wedding

We dated for almost 3 years before getting engaged.

FH and I were together for 4 years before We got engaged. He popped the question on our 4th Year Anniversary of being a couple!

We were together 7 months when we moved in together, 7 months later we got engaged, and then 17 months later we're getting married! I actually never did the match... we've been engaged for longer than we were together... oh well, it works!

Too freakin' long... almost 4 years. It was worth the wait, but goddamn, was it excruciating.

Just a couple months before our 2 year! And the engagement is 15 months long. So.. It'll be a little over 3 years when we get married! Whoho only 6 more months!

Wow! I'm impressed by both the short and long durations of dating before engagement! I guess we are average. Dated for 1 year and 2 months and will have been together 2 years and 4 months when we marry. I really didn't want this long of an engagement, but it is what it is. I knew he was the one within a few months of dating him.

My FH and I dated 5 months and knew from our first date that we were meant to be. On our first month anniversary I was in a terrible car wreck and ended up in a wheel chair for three months, I couldn't walk much less work. He never even flinched. He took care of me and really showed me what unconditional love is. We will be getting married a week after our 6 month anniversary! My whole family have agreed from day one that we were perfect for one another. Like you said, "When its right, you know!"

We were together 1 1/2 years when we got engaged, and we will have been engaged 2 years and 3 1/2 months when we (finally) get married!

We dated for about two and a half years before getting engaged, and we'll have been engaged for over two years when we get married.

5 years! No need to rush!

Dated about 10-11 months, moved in together and lived together for just over a year before he proposed, then we had an 11 month engagement before we actually tied the knot.

So pretty much about a year of dating, about a year of living together, almost a year of engagement.

We got engaged on our 4 year anniversary. we have know each other since we were in high school.
