How long are you keeping your veil on??

Ana , on August 19, 2012 at 9:42 PM Posted in Planning 0 28

I always thought that veil was for ceremony only, however I've seen pictures of brides wearing them during 1st dance, cake cutting and etc!! How long are you keeping yours on?? Im confused now!!

I took it off after the ceremony and all our pics....I would have left it on longer if it didn't get stuck on the beading of my dress every 2 mins

I've seen them wear their veils through dinner, first dance, etc. Bride last night left hers on all night.

I'm going to take mine off after the ceremony (pictures will have already been taken). It's a birdcage veil and I don't want it in my face all night!

I bought one bec my FMIL wanted me to..but...I decided against it. I'm having flowers put in my hair. I bought flowers for my MOH and daughter if they wanted to do it also. I've been to a wedding last year and she wasn't wearing one either.

I think it's really up to you Smiley smile If I wear one (I don't have a dress yet, so I haven't decided if I'm even going to wear one).. I will probably wear it before the ceremony during our photos and through the ceremony and take it off immediately after the ceremony (before we usher people out of the aisles, because I heard it gets caught a lot when you're hugging so many people!).. But some brides like to wear it through some of the "traditional/ceremonial" stuff like cake cutting and first dance.. it just depends how much you love your veil I think.. how much you want it documented in all of your photos..

Lots of brides don't even wear one.. so don't worry too much about it! Smiley smile

    You're so close! I'm jealous!

I will likely wear mine for the ceremony and some pictures and then have a flower or decorative hair pin in my hair for some pics and the reception.

I didn't wear one. I think you should wear it exactly as long as you want to! Smiley smile

I actually left mine on all night. It wasn't long and in the way.

I have been trying to decide if I want a veil at all, so if I do have one, it will only be for the ceremony and some pictures.

Mine is a cathedral veil so will have to take it off right after pics or someone will be stepping on it all night long! I am wearing a crystal headband with it and will leave that on for the rest of the night.

This is how I will have my hair done (or something close to it) with Orchids also ...

so I will have the veil on for the pictures we taking before.. then the ceremony .. Cocktail hour & 1st dance.. I will take it off after 1st dance...

I definitely want to show off the flowers in my hair ...

I also have a cathedral length veil, so it only be on during the ceremony and for whatever pics the photographer wants it on for. After that I have another comb that I will be switching to.

I think I will wear mine for most of the night. Probably take it off the last couple of hours when I start winding down. By the way Irchykk, I love that hair style.

I plan on ditching mine as soon as the ceremony is over. Veil's just aren't me, but I know I won't be able to get away with NOT wearing one (thanks Mom..)

I plan to replace it with a hair flower.
