I choose the date since it is half the number of our birthdays. We both were born on the 18th. But I needed to change it to the day before since it is a Saturday.
We knew we needed a spring date because both our birthdays are in the fall and neither of us like cold or humid. Then we knew we wanted a repeating month and day because he is Australian and I’m American - and the date will be the same all over the world.
We are having a star wars wedding so I JAD to do it on May the 4th. And saving the money had us waiting until 2025 so we can have the most epic star wars wedding possible
We knew we wanted to get married in the Fall/Winter since we live in Texas and still wanted to have an outdoor ceremony. We fell in love with a venue and were shooting for October but they were all booked up, we ended up going with December 1st which is actually the day after my parents 30th wedding anniversary so I’d say it worked out.
We were actually planning on getting married September of 2024 but had to put the wedding on pause due to finances. Decided on August, 9 of 2025 just because it’s consecutive. We have been dating since June 8th of 2018 and August 9th of 2025 will be our 7th year together, it’s on the 8th month and the 9th day of that month. It also just happens to land on a Saturday so it was just kind of great for us.

Oh wow, that sounds so fun! Here's an idea for something you could get: they make glow sticks that are like pool noodles (foam) that light up and you can put vinyl stickers (ie cricut) on them with your names and the date or something like that. They kinda remind me of lightsabers, and they're great! I went to a party last May and got one, which I took home with me. I just used it for new year's eve, and it still works very well!
