What college is near your venue? I'm assuming they have a big sports/tailgating culture there. And are you getting married outside?

I love this! I don't understand why so many people hate long engagements, they give you plenty of time to get everything under control (and you don't have to buy everything immediately, which saves money)
We chose to do a destination wedding in Costa Rica. We wanted to make sure it was in the dry season so that rain would not be an issue for a beach wedding (so we would not have to rent a tent). The dry season is from November to March, and we wanted to avoid the holidays, so we decided on the first 2 weekends of January. Then we reached out to vendors to see who had availability and that's how we chose our date!

Exactly!! That was our point, save money. He proposed on new years 2023, we are counting with our budget since the beginning and my fiancé is too prideful to accept anything for any family member’s. Our family went crazy because they wanted a wedding in 12 month and we stood for ourselves and took the decision that we were going to wait almost two years and now we are ahead for everything and we are enjoying the moment 🤍👰🏼♀️
We also based our wedding date off of our dating anniversary. Our first date was 6/22/19 and we're getting married on 6/30/24. Some of our wedding team wasn't available 6/22, but a week is still nice and close.

UVA is very close by and the town gets crowded on football days, so it’s mostly that hotels get booked up. We are getting married outside but won’t have to worry about sharing outdoor space with football fans
We both wanted a May wedding because we love that time of year and it's the month of Mother Mary. We chose the 31st because it's the day of thr Visitation which represents love of neighbor. A day full of love ❤️ 😍 💖
