How are you planning to pee in your dress? (this is serious, people)

FinallyMrsT, on March 28, 2015 at 11:44 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 50

This is silly. But I know it's nearly impossible to pee on your own at all in your wedding gown, but is anyone having to plan some crazy stunts for this? I bet some of you will be able to manage alone, but fit and flare is NOT a full bladder's friend...

I remember watching Bethenny Frankel pee into a champagne bucket before her wedding...seems legit Smiley smile

(I'm resisting the urge to put this in the "do it yourself" section lol)

Probably the trash bag trick or turning around and facing the toilet.

Haha I have a ballgown - planning on sitting backwards on the toilet facing the wall. That way the train will be out of the way.

This is the reason I decided not to alter my fit and flare to fit tightly past my hips, and didn't add any extra layers underneath. I sat on the toilet like a normal person, no problem.

My dress is pretty fitted. I think I'll manage or my BM or H will help me. I don't "sit" on the toilet anyway so someone will just hold my dress while I squat over the toilet.

I was just thinking about this! My dress is super tight and I have to pee all the time haha! Hopefully I can slide the dress up far enough to be able to go. I feel like going with a ball gown would have been easier!

@KM -- that's really good to know! I wasn't sure if it would be possible to sit at all in a F&F...I'm already planning to take a layer out, so hopefully that will help.

What I'm worried about is sliding my dress back down over my hips when I'm done. I'll have buttons, not a corset...how annoying would it be to pop a button on your gown cause of that?! lol

ETA: meant sitting at all on a toilet with a F&F...not that I'm not able to sit normally with it on haha

I had a sheath with a cathedral train, and my bustle broke after 5 mins. I ended up grabbing the train and tossing it over my shoulder while I used the bathroom. It was quite funny!

I would suggest practicing before the day as it took a few goes to figure out the best way!

I like the sitting backwards method. I'm so glad I found this topic, this isn't something I had placed much thought on.

I tried the trash bag thing, and hiking it up etc, but it's not gonna work in my very tight mermaid dress. I can't even sit down in it currently. Argh. It's also a corset back, so I can't take it off/do it up myself. I am just going to get someone to undo the corset (dress still stays up if it's undone), then go in the bathroom stall, take my dress off, hang it over the door, do my biz, and then put it back on and get someone to tie it up after. It's gonna suck but I don't see any other way of gettin it done!

I peed backwards and made my daughter come into the ladies room with me and hold the back up. Not to scare you ladies but in a wedding I was in last year, the bride had a slight fit and flare and didn't consider wiping and (TMI alert) after asking my sister (her MOH) and another friend to wipe her butt for her (luckily I had already left) after she pooped. Finally someone had to get the groom to come wipe his new wife's behind (the moral here is if you know something has "that affect" on you, for the love of God don't eat it on your wedding day!)
