Honeymoon included in wedding budget?

SeaOtter, on July 25, 2013 at 5:58 PM Posted in Planning 0 25

I've been including our honeymoon in our wedding budget, but my sister says that you're supposed to have a separate budget. So what's the sitch, ladies? Did you include your honeymoon in your wedding budget, or keep it separate?

I don't because I don't want to feel bad about how much I'm spending by adding another $5000 onto the wedding haha...but I think technically you are supposed to include it

It doesn't really matter, just as long as you know how much money you need to have. I'm with Laudie, though-- I don't even like including the wedding bands in the budget Smiley smile~

We separated the wedding budget from the honeymoon budget :-)

I guess its all the same, but it was just easier to manage by separating the two

We included honeymoon, and wedding bands as well. I needed a running, complete total for the entire kitten-kabooodle...

We inlcuded the honeymoon into the wedding bands. It allows us to see the total cost.

We had everything except for the food and the honeymoon in the budget- our families are helping to pick up the tab on certain things and FH said I'm comfortable spending "X" on the wedding... (so with our parents contributions combined that took care of all the food) but we both agreed that the honeymoon needed to be AMAZING so we kind of broke our budget on that... by $1,000...

I think we're going to keep the honeymoon and the wedding bands in our budget. Within the last six years, my parents had two more children, lost their business, and bought a house so I think they're all set with financial strain right now haha. FH and I are planning on doing everything ourselves, although we kind of anticipate both his parents and my parents attempting to contribute in some way. We figure it makes more sense to plan on paying for it ourselves, that way if anyone does want to contribute, it will be a nice surprise, but we can still handle it if they don't.

We're trying to include everything. Mainly because if we don't, we could be spending money we don't have/shouldn't. We know how much we can spend, so we starting dividing it out from there.

We aren't going on our honeymoon right after the wedding, sooo we aren't including it in the budget. Plus, that would make our wedding budget look ridiculous. Lol.

It's monsoon season where we want to honeymoon during the month of our wedding so we are prob going to take our honeymoon around October of 2015. We have a whooole other budget in mind for that.

We did not include our honeymoon in our budget only because we are using our miles to pay for it.

I got completely spoiled and my FMIL "paid" for our entire honeymoon with her credit card points. However, if we had paid actual money from it we would not have included it. We travel twice a year so we just would have counted it as our winter trip. Smiley smile

Right now my budget doesn't include it, With a 5K budget I wouldn't have much for stuff if I add the honeymoon to that.

EVERYTHING was included in my budget- honeymoon, wedding bands, everything. It's easier to have it all in one list.
