Help I need a petticoat!!

*alliecat*, on August 4, 2011 at 12:33 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 13

Ok, so I'm needing a petticoat for my Maggie Sotterro dress "Carrie". I tried it on for the first time after it finally arrived and it wasnt as poofy as I thought. I need one fast as my bridal pics are going to be taken in one month. I have to find one i like (of that will go with the dress) and make sure i like it and not have to return it and order another one. Therefore, unless I can order with fast shipping somewhere I'll have to buy it in a store (making sure they have a return policy of course) I live in a city that doesnt have much so my mom and I will be going to Houston or Dallas to search for one. Does anyone know any stores that have a big selection and something that would go with the Carrie dress. I'll post a pic of it, but its not that puffy on me. Smiley sad And I have broad shoulders so I'm really needing my dress to puff out more...or I'll look like an upside down triangle. lol

Ebay is your friend! Is your dress a ball gown?

You can try some bridal shops. I haven't been to many places that sell them, but maybe David's, I know they're not the best but you might find the largest selection there. Other than bridal stores I don't where else you could buy one : /

Here are pics of my dress both without the petticoat (the first one), and with the petticoat (the second and third). In the second and third pics, I am wearing the Gripper Waist Very Full petticoat, but I don't think that one would work with your dress, so the link I sent was for the page with the petticoats I thought would work better with the style of your dress Smiley smile

I got my petticoat from the bridal salon where I got my dress. They carry a limited number in stock (they order a new one every time someone buys one) so I was able to try it on with my dress before I bought it and was able to take it home that day. I agree with the others that you probably need a "mermaid" or "fit and flare" petticoat.

I bought mine off eBay. I had it within a week. I think you can get it there no problems- and save yourself a TON of money!

i like this style bc the top part is made of double-ply lycra spandex so it acts as a shaper. i got the regular mermaid one, but you can get the trumpet extender to better fit your dress
