Friday 13th wedding?

The day is special to you, and obviously lucky for you, too, so I say go for it.

I wouldn't, only because I prefer Saturday weddings.

If you believe in superstitions then i wouldnt do it.. if you dont then go for it!!

I don't see a problem with having it a "Friday the 13th" but I'm partial to the number 13, always have been!

If you are weary of doing it that day then maybe have a small ceremony so your actual wedding anniversary will be 12.13 and then have another wedding a different day?

I prefer Saturday weddings, also, but if the day is special to you, go for it! I'm marrying a hockey player, lol! We're way too superstitious

One of my friends got married on Friday the 13th. There first date was on Friday the 13 (of a different month), so it was special to them to get married on Friday the 13th.

Friday the 13th has always been a normal day for me, so I wouldn't mind holding it on that day.

I don't know how bad is your dad's condition, but if it were my dad, I would definitely move up my date.

If it were my father, I definitely would do everything to make sure he was there at my wedding. I hope your father is not too ill but from you description above, it does sound like a concern. Hopefully you'll work something out!

If it's just about having a wedding on a Friday, you know best how that may affect your guest list. But if you're worried about it being "Friday the 13th," I say go for it. My fiance and I got engaged on a Friday the 13th and its always been a lucky day for me!! The day has special meaning to the two of you, I'd do it.

I would not let a superstitution dictate your choice of wedding. It is just antoher day in my book except for a few people who like to hype it up. I am having a friday wedding this year and it has been received very well. A common comment has been we still get to have our weekend!!!

My dad has severe dementia - most likely from alzheimer's - His short term memory is very much impaired and he is going through testing now. It will be a couple more months before we know anything official and how to proceed. My sister thinks it might already be too late to have him very involved anyway so keep our original date. We are just tossing ideas around at this point about moving it to 2013 and what date it would be.

We're getting married on a Friday simply so we can party and hang out with our guests all day Saturday before we all fly back home on Sunday. I don't know if I would focus on what day, Friday or Saturday.....stay focused on your anniversary date that you want, and whatever your heart/gut is telling you regarding your father Friday or Saturday, you are already lucky, because your marrying the man of your dreams.

I am getting married on a friday. I would totally get married on a friday the 13th. It's actually statistically safer because people tend to be more cautious.

I say go for it. Honestly just depending on the day and how your day is going sun, mon, tues, wed, thurs, fri, sat, or sun could be a bad luck day.

I am getting married next month on Friday the 13th and could not be happier. I think that Friday is good because then our families still have their weekend to explore fl and besides I am not very superstitious. I think it will be amazing and a great way to start our lives

You aren't doing it for superstitious reasons, you're doing it because that date is special to you and your Groom, and also so that the special people in your family can celebrate the joyous occasion. So, I say go for it! It is an added perk that most vendors will run slightly less expensive since it's a Friday.
