I just finished the third book, found them enjoyable, and am anticipating the movie (as long as no twilight actors are in it). But someone tweeted this review of the first book, and I can honestly say she has a lot of good points!

What do you think?

    Yeahhhh no. definitely not a movie unless it's skinamax or HBho...and the spelling and grammar needs to improve greatly. too much murmuring and "oh my"ing lol

    Lmao! That was a really funny review.

    If it were a movie it would have to be rated X, or it would be bad.

    I just finished the 3rd one too. Whatevs, I have no shame. I never thought it was Tolstoy. I figured it was random chick-porn. Hey, I won't lie, I read the first one on HM and we had some very excellent spirited evenings as a result. Is it literature? Helz no. The writing is better in the Babysitters Club. It's all good. Time and place for everything IMO. Smiley smile

    I'm sure they will tune it down just enough to equal soft core porn lol

    And OMG there were so many editing errors. I was like, really? I paid $15 for this book? If this was a college paper it would get a C+.

    Made me realize you don't actually HAVE to be a good writer to publish a popular novel that makes you lots of money, you just have to have an idea people want to hear about. And now I am off to write my novel. Smiley winking

    Kris, my sentiments exactly. And I also would have NEVER picked these books up if it hadn't been for you and your non-existent book club ploy.

    I just don't think it'd be too marketable as movie material...probably should've stayed on fanfiction.net where all the pervs could anonymously love on it lol i read all 3 and very quickly too but it was more out of hate of not finishing a series...no it wasn't the worst thing i've ever read and yes it has some things i'll probably eventually end up trying out but it should definitely stay in written form. i really don't think this will translate well to the big screen.

    it's not twilight -- it's twilight's cougar-of-a-mom-who-thinks-she's-a-nubile-teenage-goddess. harder audience to please!!

    I have no problem with sex but I will NEVER read these books. I am glad if you all can enjoy it but whenever a book uses annoying phrases more than one or two times I already want to rip my hair out. I can't imagine reading "oh my" what was it, 79 times? But I'm just high strung like that.

    But K-Stew sounds perfect for this movie.

    I loved the actual story… the explicit scenes did get kinda boring so i just kinda skimmed through them.. I was pretty hooked though! I was also wondering how in the heck are they going to make a presentable movie!

    Hey, I totally wanted book club to happen! I'm still geeking for a book club! I just had to go, you know, get married and stuff. Smiley smile Should we try again?

    PS after reading 50 shades, how the eff would anybody have a book club on it? I can just see the discussions...."So Christian tugs on her nipple and she's not sure if she likes it, discuss!" lmao

    Kristen, K-Stew is not perfect for any movie. Ever. Unless she is playing someone in a coma.

    Kris, lets start a friggin book club then! I'm reading The Lucky One... have you read it?

    I'm sorry ladies I read the 3 books long before anyone here brought them up to read, but that's because I'm more into the D/s scene and was curious to see this book's take on it as it was already hitting the market hard as "mommy porn". So I was curious to see what it was all about. And from the D/s side these books aren't even close to what the real lifestyle is all about. It's a total joke, but I guess for some people it's kind of a an eye opener to what it could be - maybe.

    I get turned off by:

    * Bad grammar and spelling.

    * Vapid prose.

    * Any book that equates bdsm with abuse and/or poor mental health.

    So far, I haven't seen a single review that suggests that someone like me would like this book, so I'm staying away.
