About six months. It felt tight to me, but Hubby wanted early and our top date preference wasn’t a popular time of year. We actually got a discount because they were eager to get a booking then!

We got engaged in May and just booked our venue.

I am looking at venues now for Spring 2026 and plan to book by November. If you are flexible with dates and aren'ttrying for the most popular venues in your area, a year out should be fine, but 18 months is better I think.

We unintentionally booked it about 1.5 years in advance. We booked it in November 2019 for May 2020, then CoVID happened so it was moved to September 2020 . . . then February 2021 . . . and finally July 2021.
