Favor per person or per couple?

LindsayNicole, on December 24, 2012 at 11:32 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 12

We are thinking of giving away wine bottle stoppers as wedding favors. My question is should we give one favor per person or per couple/family? I'm not really concerned about the difference in cost as much as what makes the most sense. Also, if we are going to do per couple should we label them? Otherwise I'm not sure people will innately know. Here's the link to the favor: http://www.beau-coup.com/fall-leaf-wine-stoppers.htm

One per person. Each guest should receive a favor if favors are given.

I think with wine stoppers one per couple is fine. How many of the same stopper do you need in one house really. Lol. If it was something edible I would say one per person but something like this is ok to do per couple.

As far as the guests knowing they are 1/couple...if your tables seat 10 ppl, put 5 favors on the table. Kind of in between seats.

I think for wine stoppers one per couple makes sense. I would label them just so people are clear on which one is theirs.

For wine stoppers, I would also say one per couple. Edible favors should be one person, but I don't know that any couple (or family) would really be stoked to get more than one wine stopper.

Ours were edible so we did one per person.

It depends on the type of favor. Edible favors and such should be one per person. Household trinkets can get away with 1 per couple/family. You'll even have people who don't even take them.

(For our wedding, we did scratch off lottery tickets and did one per person)

You could always attach your escort cards to them and have couples on your cards. This would help make it obvious as a 1 per couple, instead of per person.

Our edible favors will be for each person. We are considering candles which will be per couple.

You could do one wine stopper and one edible favor per couple.

Just a follow up...I think we are going to do gender based favors (wine stoppers for the ladies and a matching beer bottle opener for the men) that way couples aren't getting two of the same favor.

We are giving a votive candle and a pack of wedding matches in a organza bag. We thought one per couple but we don't want them placed at place settings. That may be too much candle scent per table. We were going to put in a large basket with a sign. Is one per couple enough? Thanks!!!
