Essential for us because we don't live in the same area as family and a lot of our family is elderly and/or sick. This way they get to experience it too even though they aren't fit to travel.
Essential. But I dont want any editing - I want my ceremony exactly as it happens with the music we chose to have performed by the people we asked to perform it - my sister is an amazing trumpet player and will be our Herald playing fanfares for both of us to enter and exit to; one of my good friends from the church I grew up in will be singing a piece that he does every year for a few major services and most weddings at that church, he has the voice of an angel; and the choir and organist from the church I'm a member of now (where we are getting married) will be singing/playing - and hopefully the whole congregation/audience/our guests will sing all the hymns which I am still narrowing down but am picking from a huge list of favorites. I also want our first dance, our parent/child dances (we are both dancing with our dads and I'm dancing with my mom - again since we used to dance on stage together!) "anniversary dance" and cake cutting recorded - exactly as is. So really the only editing that would be left would be smoothing the connections between those so it doesnt look jumpy, but that is all I want done.
And I know how much I would regret it if I didnt have it because I did color guard all through HS and we always bought the video from State Championships (and the one year we made it far enough at Worlds I got that one too) but one year something happened to the camera during our class and the video didnt record properly so we didnt get one and I'm STILL (over 20 years later) trying to find maybe somewhere a video of either that or our Worlds performance that someone else managed to record because it bothers me so much that I dont have that one. And I frequently rewatch all of those shows (2 seasons a year for 5 years = alot of shows) and all my ballet/dance performances (another few a year but for 10+ years) and all our old home videos, especially the ones with my grandparents in them, just to remember their voices.
Oh wow!! That's definitely signs of a good videographer! It's nothing like watching a wedding video especially when everything was captured just right.
EXTRA! With so many people having cell phones and then the photographers themselves, I just don't see the need unless you truly plan to watch the video often... or enter the video into a contest... or use the video for event planning marketing. Otherwise, pictures will suffice.
For us, videography is an "extra" that we are choosing not to have at the wedding. Our photography package includes two photographers, so we'll have plenty of pictures to capture our big day!
I am so torn on this one. I love the idea of having video of our wedding but my FH and my mother both don't think it is needed. I will likely find a way to do two Go Pros hidden in my entrance arch flowers and our ceremony arch. That way we have video but aren't paying the extra for a videographer. I can edit the video so I don't really need someone for that. Plus we are having two photographers to cover every moment of our day
Videography; essential! photobooth: I am considering doubling or tripling up for this... 1.- it’s a favor for the guests. 2- it’ll print out 2 copies one for them and one for the guest book which they will sign and place in it. And 3- just cuz it’s fun!
