We are having a small destination wedding, not everyone is invited. So we decided that we needed to do it for the people who couldn't be there.

I have never seen a wedding video I liked. For me, it wasn't important.

Would it have been cool if we had the extra cash, sure. But I doubt I would have watched it much.

I chose to do it because we are having a celebration in the UK next year and play our ceremony there for those who couldnt be there.

Extra. Not necessary for me. But I will probably have someone record it.

Both? Definitely an extra unnecessary cost, but its a great memory so we are having one.

Essential!! We had a very small intimate destination wedding - 6 total guests so I wanted it captured so friends/family could see it.

***PSA for those who haven’t married yet*** Find a way to fit a videographer in your budget!! We haven’t received our video back yet but now that we are married I’m so happy we made the decision to hire a videographer. I swear I like half blacked out during our ceremony or something!! It went by sooo fast and I’m fuzzy/can’t remember parts of it. I can’t wait to be able to watch it back and hear my husband’s vows again. I would have been really disappointed without having this ability! No matter how beautiful the pictures are, they don’t capture the words spoken.

Must, this day is going to fly by and the videos will be something I can relive.

That'll be so nice! What made you all choose the UK? Do you have family there?

I agree!!! This is great advice and something to definitely think about. I have heard so many times that once the day get's started it goes so fast and before you know it, it's all over!

I think it's definitely something to look in to! A family of mine got married 2 months ago and I absolutely loved his video so much! The videographer did an awesome job with the editing and including the best shots from their day; beginning with them getting ready all the way to the reception. The video made me feel like I was there!
I'm now contemplating hiring the same company for my wedding. However, we're already thinking about having 2 photographers so a videographer may be overkill for us!

    Extra.

Technology changes so much, you probably won’t be able to watch it 10 years from now.

We're considering this extra and not hiring a videographer. I know realistically I might watch the video once or twice if we had it whereas I will put photos up in frames and see them regularly. For us it just wasn't something we felt we wanted or needed.

Not necessary, an extra, unless you really will view and share.

It was important to me that we have a video. Luckily our photographer has a video option in their wedding packages so I am thrilled about that. It is not super important that the video is movie theater quality, but I do want to be able to watch it with my FH and future family

Essential! We have many out of state friends and family that might not be attending so video and photos were huge for us!

Definitely extra for me. I couldn't justify that in my budget. I know that I wouldn't watch it over and over again and most people don't want to see it. A guest who is an amateur photographer did do some video and sent it to us, though.
