Essential or Extra - Engagement Pictures

I’ll go with both. I was a photographer for a long time and weddings were a big deal for us. We included engagement sessions- not just so that the couple could have the pics for their announcements, but it’s also an opportunity for the couple to get to know their photographer

It feels so extra! We had photos taken when we he proposed and then after we had some posed photos taken so I just didn't see the point of engagement photos... The proposal photos captured it. The only way I would have even considered engagement photos is if it was something free my photographer offered because I know it is a good way to get to know your photographer. But... so extra. We have enough photos together, lol

I don’t think it’s either really. Personally we will be getting engagement photos but I don’t believe it makes or breaks anything. I like the idea of getting them done tho because it’s intimate, celebrating a special moment, and it never hurts to have some nice professional photos of you and your future spouse.

Extra. We will probably post a bunch of pictures of us together on social media as well as our website. Thus making engagement photos a non issue

Extra! as a couple on a tight budget & paying for everything ourselves, this was definitely considered an extra. Instead we had our own photoshoot with our dog & tripod at a local garden. Gonna make sure we splurge on the wedding photography though!

Essential! I used the pictures for the save the dates and printed a bunch out and displayed at the Bridal Shower. I also used them for the guest book and will probably display a few at the reception.

Essential! We love ours!

Absolutely essential! Plus, they make for good save the date or invitation pictures.

Essential! I literally have swooned over strangers' epics online for years so it was a must for me! I LOVE how ours came out and it was a great way to get to know our photographer better!

I think they are essential but if we are not able to do them then I will do family pictures.

We did them. An engagement session came with our photography package but we probably still would have done them.

Essential. It's just fun and the pictures make me excited for out wedding.

Engagement photos to me are a little something extra but essential for a lot of people. I definitely want to take some though

Definitely an essential
