Engagement Ring Bliss

When i went to sleep my hand was naked
When I woke up, the ring was on my finger. When he realizes I was awake he said, "ARE YOU READY TO BE MY FORE VER".... and of course i responded with a YES

My boyfriend of 5 years, 2 months, and 10 days took me to Olive Garden on 10/28/2018. The night started like any typical date night. After Olive Garden, he took me on a stroll through my university's campus. I didn't have a clue something big was happening until he started tripping over his words, getting lost trying to find the perfect spot he had picked out, and his heart was pounding out of his chest. He eventually took me directly by the center of one of the biggest fountains on campus. He recited a poem from memory that he wrote and got down on one knee. Of course I said YES!! We are high school Sweethearts. It has now been 5 years, 2 months, and 15 days. To think we started out as Juniors in high school, love letters, meeting on the steps outside of my math class, two proms and our high school graduation. He will watch me graduate again in May of 2019 and we will get married October 13, 2019. I am so blessed to have a guy that will shop and actively plans our wedding with me. My roommate says we have the chemistry of a couple that has been dating for a few days not over 5 years. Yes, it is true we are still deeply in love. He is my best friend and the love of my life. Our love song is Endless Love. What's yours?

I had been sick for the past couple months (I have an autoimmune disease that makes it hard for me to walk and move around) I knew he had the ring and kept bugging him about it, and he wanted to wait until I could go out and do something big, but one night we were watching movies in bed and he was fiddling with my hand and slips the ring on. He kept apologizing that it wasn’t some bigger proposal but I loved it because it was very us ♥️

He put the ring on my finger while I was sleep then woke me up for breakfast with a kiss. I didn’t notice until I went to wash my face and I open the door and he was there.

He had taken my up to Cherry Springs State Park to go stargazing for my birthday using the telescope he bought me for our anniversary two years prior.

On the way to get setup for stargazing we stopped at an overlook to take in the gorgeous view. There he asked me if I wanted my birthday present (which I was frustrated he hadn't given me yet - I love presents) so he went into the back of the car to get it and told me to turn around.

I heard the gravel behind me shift as he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I responded with "YAY!" did a happy dance, then tackled him. He then reminded me I hadn't actually said yes hahahah.

It was great, better than I could've expected. Plus he had worked with my mom to determine the best ring for me that was unique, shiny, awesome, and unlikely to break due to my clumsiness. I've already hit my tooth with the ring twice and it hasn't even been a month!

Same! Our youngest told me that they got me a ring. There were SO many times I thought he was going to ask. Perfect hair, perfect make up, and cute outfit every time. Lol. He asked me on his birthday. I was so busy making sure everyone would at the restaurant on time and everyone had the right directions to the haunted house we were going to that I didn't have much time for make up and we were going to be outside, so I threw together my outfit too. It was still so perfect.

Our youngest daughter told me that they bought me a ring after he picked it up in August. It was honestly the cutest thing ever, but poor girl ruined his surprise. So, I waited what felt like FOREVER for him to ask. There was so many times I was positive he was going to ask, so I made sure I had perfect hair and make up. But it never happened. I gave up hope. Lol. We went to a wedding together and meet this awesome couple. The lady was a jeweler and he made a joke about how he wish he would have meet her before, because he has a ring now. She asked me to see it and I had to tell her I don't have it. She turned to him and said "What are you waiting for?! What if she wakes up tomorrow and gets hit by a bus?! ".... as dramatic as it sounds, she was right. She also told him to stop waiting for the perfect moment, because it'll be perfect no matter what. He also had a few drinks, so it hit him kind of hard. He told me he has been waiting for the "perfect moment", but what she said really made him think. Fast forward to a few weeks after and I am planning his birthday which is October 27th. We are such a Halloween family even our girls. We go to a haunted house every weekend. Well, for his birthday I set it up for everyone to get dinner with us and go to our favorite haunted house. Of course on the day of, I am running around like a mad woman and threw together my outfit and what little make up I could so we would not be late. I was so excited SO MANY of our friends actually could make it. We had such a great turn out. Little did I know, he was going behind my back and telling the people I invited that he was going to propose... No wonder everyone actually came. Haha. He asked me in line for the haunted house. His brother lost his ticket, so everyone had what I thought was their flash lights on to look for the ticket. But turns out they were all video taping. They all got the entire moment on video. Also, the brother thing was not planned. He legit lost his ticket. Lol. It was seriously SO unexpected and SOOOOO perfect.

I LOVE when pets get involved!!!
With mine, we booked a vacation weekend to one of our favorite places, St. Augustine. When we got there my mom, my sister and on of my best friends were there to meet us. Claimed it was just to catch up (yeah right!)
After having lunch and walking around we stopped for a kiss at the Love Tree like we always do, but this time he knelt down right as a tour guide was finishing the love story behind the tree itself. He was so emotional he couldn't even speak, but of course I said yes! Found out later that he had been planning for months and even made the box himself ♡

So I'm still in law school and it so happens that a few weeks into the semester (of my last year) my computer crashed! So my FH let me borrow his laptop in the meantime. One day I came home when he wasn't quite home yet and opened up his computer to use it for school. He had left his email open and I saw the subject like that said "engagement ring order confirmation." I quickly shut the computer, shocked and already emotional! We had been talking about it in the weeks prior but I didn't know he actually got it. When he got home I couldn't help but cry and when he asked me what was wrong I told him I had seen something that i wasn't supposed to see... he sort of panicked and told me to stand there and wait - right in our hallway. I couldn't believe it and then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I was crying so hard and kept saying "is this really happening?!" He had to ask me if that was a no! And I immediately said, "of course, yes! I will!"

He said he had gotten the ring in the mail a few days earlier and was dying to pop the question! He picked the ring all by himself and I couldn't be happier

The Ring:

He set up a “photo shoot” for us to get some pictures done and after taking pictures for about a half hour, the photographer called me over to her camera to look at them and then asked me to go back to take one more and when I turned around he was down on one knee!

My fiancé and I had been dating for a year when we started to look at rings together. Went to multiple jewelers, tried on dozens of rings, talked with a designer about creating our own. Still couldn’t really find anything that spoke to us both - until we found THE ring. An antique piece from circa 1940, we knew it was the one for my finger as soon as we slipped it on. 😍💍

Neither of us wanted to go through the whole proposal debacle - it’ll be the second marriage for each of us, and the decision to get married was a joint one. It would have seemed silly for him to orchestrate a proposal or me to feign surprise. So we agreed to wait until we found the perfect ring to buy, and at that point our engagement would be official.

Of course it just so happens we looked like hoboes that day (weren’t expecting to find our ring on that trip) - but we were thrilled to take our relationship to the next step of engagement. ☺️

And no, that’s not a special manicure. My nails always look like that naturally. Thank goodness at least one thing looks nice in the photos because we look like bums after having done work outside the house all that day. LOL

We had been talking about getting engaged for about a month, but he still hadn’t popped the question. It was starting to turn into a bit of an inside joke, when I’d constantly ask him when he was going to propose and he’d laugh and say “soon” and that he was waiting for the “right moment.” I also asked him if I was allowed to propose instead and he said that he wanted to do the “real” one, but I could ask him too if I really wanted :p So one night I wrote him a really long letter that listed all the reasons I wanted to marry him. And I ended it with “this is my proposal so I’ll wait for yours now, but I’d like to marry you whenever you’re ready.” He started crying and got down on one knee, and said that by writing that letter I had created the perfect moment. I literally could not believe that he was actually doing it. I kept repeating “are you serious? Is this for real? Are you sure?” Hahaha. He had gotten me a CZ ring to wear temporarily, and we picked out this one together
