Engagement Ring Bliss

We were on vacation in SF. I'd been having panic attacks while there because hurricane Florence seemed to be making a beeline for home and I wanted to leave. I was going to leave Thursday morning but he and his aunt begged me not to. I finally gave in and said whatever let's enjoy our trip.

Thursday morning we were taking what I thought to be a random walk on the beach, he said "hold on let me get my sunglasses", set his backpack down and handed me the fortune cookie he'd made in Chinatown two days prior (at this point I'm getting suspicious), the fortune said "I love you" on one side and "will you marry me on the other."

My fiancé and I are high school sweethearts. In March, it’ll be 6 years 💗 The day he graduated from college is the day he proposed (Dec 16). We went to school in the mountains, so after he walked he asked me to come with him to take graduation pictures in front of the mountains. He said he wanted nice pictures to give his parents for Christmas. We took pictures and as we were walking away, he stopped and called my name. I turned around and he was on one knee with the ring! The photographer got the whole thing. The ring is exactly what I wanted. He did GREAT! 💗

So I went on vacation to Disney World for the first time with my FH and his family. They're disney fanatics and been there multiple times. So I was glad that I could experience that with them. So we drove, left Sunday and arrived Monday afternoon around 3ish. They planned for the first night to go to magic kingdom. I wish he would have told me to put something cute on but he probably thought it was a dead giveaway lmao. We showered and I just put a fresh face of makeup on. We get there and then me and his sister wanted the rose gold ears. His dad disappeared for a little. Then were walking up to a spot at cinderellas castle and the part they wanted to walk thru was blocked off. They were asking for a photographer for some reason. I thought they just wanted some professional pics at the castle. Mind you his mom takes pictures all the time. So we end up going on splash mountain to kill time. Mind you it's a water ride and obviously I didnt know at the time he had a ring in his pocket haha. We go back to the spot at the castle and his mom is searching for this photographer who said she would come up and take all of our pictures like a family picture she never showed up. So they're like "Talia, take our pic." Then Kevin was like alright come over here then my back was turned and he got on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was so magical.

He rented a hotel for us for two days for Valentine's Day this year. We went to a concert Valentine's Day night. I thought he was going to ask me then since we had been talking about it, but nope. The next day we went out for breakfast and he suggested we go to the mall. Okay I don't mind shopping, so off we go. Once we get there he is walking like he has a place in mind. He leads me towards the jewelry store. Now I'm thinking, he wants to get an idea of what I like.
He says to the sales ckerk, we're looking for engagement rings. She directs me to a seat and shows me rings to try on. I tried on several then I put on THE ring. I whispered to her, omg, THIS is the one. She then repeats what I said!!!
He gets up off his stool, takes the ring from her, gets down on one knee and asks me to marry him! Of course I said YES, and teared up.
I had to take the ring off so she could clean it and he could pay for it!!! I asked her to hurry!!! I wanted my ring back.

While she was getting the ring rung up and cleaned I began to develop hives. While leaving the mall I started attempting to clear my throat, and about 10 minutes from there, I had lost my voice completely. My breathing became difficult. So within 20 minutes. I was in the ER wirh anaphylaxis..I have allergies to things I'm not aware of. It can be brought on by stress as well. We now laugh, saying it's him!!!

What I thought was just our first international vacation together turned into the sweetest proposal and surprisingly enough caught me totally off guard.

The night before, FH mentioned wanting to go the specialty restaurant where we could get steak and lobster. Reservations were made and I thought nothing of it other than we were in for a treat. The setting was romantic and dinner was fantastic. We smiled, laughed and had an amazing conversation. I was on cloud nine or so I thought. After dinner ended he suggested we take a stroll to see what we'd get into next. Hand in hand, we start down the courtyard and I hear him say how fabulous not only tonight and our trip has been but the last 3 years and how he'd hoped that would continue. I replied "absolutely" He then said something along the lines of "you promise" the second it took for me to realize his response was odd, he was on bended knee and that's when I was on cloud nine.

He asked me in the bahamas on our first cruise in August . He waited until I fell asleep then open the box and put it above my head and that's what I woke up to my reaction was funny to him while he was laughing he said will you marry me . I'm so in love with my ring

We were out to dinner to celebrate my sisters wedding anniversary (the first since her husband passed away in 2017) and FH & I drove separate to the restaurant. He got home before I did & called to ask where I was. He was acting kind of weird & I was right down the road so he said "ok love you bye" real fast & hung up. When I got home, I opened the door & knew something was weird because my pups didnt greet me at the door like their usually hyper selves. All of a sudden one of my dogs comes flying from the hallway (in typical boxer excitement lol) with a paper strung around his neck & he wouldnt sit still enough for me to read it lol. I figured FH was messing with the dogs, but finally got him to settle down enough to read it & saw "hey mom" written on it. Then my other dog came rushing into the room & his said "will you marry our dad?". Then FH came out from around the corner & got down on his knee! I was in such shock & our pups seemed so happy to be a part of it lol

He asked me at my parent's house, he got so excited he didn't want to wait.

We were going to my FH Medical School
formal and had his roommate take us to the park and take some pictures since we were all dressed up. While we were posing for pictures he got down on one knee and pulled out a ring! He always makes fun of me because instead of saying yes right away I said “ no you’re not!” Because of how surprised I was! Even more of a surprise my parents paid for us to stay in a hotel that night and my family came up to surprise me and had a banner and balloons and a veil!

He proposed to me at my cabin in the woods next to the creek after we had been dating for 4 and a half years!

He brought me back to where we first met, we met at a club he was DJing at. The club was actually hosting a huge event the sidewalk was packed to the point where people were walking on the road to go around. So we are in the middle of the road and he stopped traffic in front of everybody and got down to one knee I started to cry and he said "I wanted our biggest adventure to start where I became alive and whole..." it was so amazing

So there was a slight delay in the ring being shipped since he ordered it online. He had planned to propose at Cinderella's Castle during our Disney trip, but it didn't arrive before we left for Orlando. When we got back to my parents' home in FL (we stayed with them for part of our vacation for our 1 year anniversary), we decided to take a late-night soak in the hot tub before we went to bed to catch our early flight. When we were alone under the twinkle lights and the stars he pulled the box out of his pocket and opened it for me. I exclaimed over its beauty and asked if he was going to ask me a question (we knew we were getting married -- we had already booked a venue). He said "I'm going to ask you a question I already know the answer to".

Then he asked.

And I said yes and cried a bunch

I couldn't love my ring more. Diamonds are fine, but I'm a sucker for a pearl -- I love their classic beauty.

For our 1 year anniversary he took me to a jeweler so I could pick out my centerstone and we designed my engagement ring together and I knew it had been done and that he had it since July. Well I wait anxiously for the moment because I knew it was going to happen and when it hadn't I sort of assumed he was waiting for Christmas or some time next year. So last Saturday we went to my cousins Halloween party and when we got home we got ready for bed. I had assumed earlier in the day he might do it because he got all dressed up when we went to the apple orchard, but it didn't happen. Anyways so we are laying in bed playing with our cat and talking about wedding/future plans and he's looks at me and said "do you honestly really want to marry me?" And I said "of course I want to marry you, you're everything I ever wanted in a husband." Then from under the blanket he pulled out the ring box and said "well you didn't say no, you said yes" and I looked at him stunned not registering that he has just proposed to me and I didn't even know he had so I did the logical thing and covered my head with the blanket then peeked out at the ring crying and was like are you serious and he was like well of course I am I love you. Not the proposal I expected, but still really sweet.
