Engagement Ring Bliss

We were in Savannah, GA on a little weekend trip! We were walking along River Street when we decided to sit on a bench after dinner and watch the boats come by. It was so cold for May in the south! We were talking about how much we loved each other and being sweet and then FH pulled out the ring and proposed! I had a feeling it was coming because we talked about marriage a ton and FH was acting a little strange that day (he can't hide much from me). We were both sooo happy, we went out to a dueling piano bar to celebrate, people bought us beers and shots and we ubered back to the hotel. FH was extremely drunk (and was happy it was over and I said yes!) He passed out in the hotel by 9pm, lol. Poor guy can't hold his alcohol. This was just after he asked!

Aww your ring is so pretty! Congrats. We went on this big trip and my fiancé picked up the ring “secretly” like I didn’t know but then he chickened out I guess and didn’t give it to me. I wasted a lot of cute outfits, red lipstick and time straightening hair. Then he proposed on Sunday afternoon while I was playing games on my computer in pajamas and messy hair.

We had a few days off from work to go up to a cabin with his friends. Before we left town he pulled into a park. I was confused but he said we had time to spare so he just wanted to go for a walk. The thought crossed my mind that he might propose but I immediately squashed it. We had been dating for 7 years already and there were so many times I thought he might propose and he didn't, so I thought, "Why now?". As we were walking I joked about how weird it was and how I felt like he might push me into the river, maybe he's had enough of me? Ha-Ha.We were still walking when he mentioned how this was the park where we had our first date... and suddenly time started to go in slow motion as he turned towards me and got down on one knee. I remember doing the classic "cover your mouth with your hand like your surprised thing", but it was real surprise.I remember I couldn't even say yes. I was crying so hard. And then we drove up to the cabin, stopped for McDonalds on the way and I totally ugly-cried and ate chicken nuggets.We got to the cabin and all his friends knew! They congratulated me and had wine and pizza and cheesecake ready. Amazing.

I knew he had asked my dad (my parents are bad at surprises) and that he'd bought a ring but I didn't think it would be till Christmas (it was the week before Thanksgiving). We were planning on going out to dinner -- and he shoes up in a vest and tie. He was so nervous and jumpy in the car. We had a romantic dinner at a private table --- but the most ANNOYING waiter!. Between dinner & dessert, all the sudden he had gotten up & knelt down by my side of the table. It was sweet and private.

I had similar experiences with my FH. I thought he was doing it a bunch of other times or was going to wait but he thought it would be more meaningful if it came form our furbaby lol

I was home on my lunch break and he got down on one knee right in our living room. He ordered my ring online and had just gotten it in the mail that morning. He said he was to excited to ask me so he didn't wait. It was simple but just as sweet as any big romantic gesture.

FH decided we should have a date night... (we have 2 small children) we never have date nights. I agreed. He pushed for me to get pampered before our date. I refused. Like I said, we have kids. Don't splurge on myself too much. He pushed for at least a manicure. I refused. He made me a beautiful dinner. He was so quiet and awkward during dinner. So I suggested a walk by the bayfront. We talked about nothing and everything. He told me he knew what he wanted for his birthday (the following month). He said he wanted me... as he said that I laughed it off and kept walking. But he stopped. I turned to look at him and he was down on one knee. Screamed and cried my face off. He really surprised me.

He proposed after a hike at the grand canyon. I had no idea because it was a trip to celebrate my graduation, or so I thought. It was perfect.

The Proposal

Engagement Ring

FH proposed to me this past Christmas eve. We were with his family, and we were all playing a game of Pictionary (my absolute favorite). When it was his turn, he began drawing on the board, and I remember shouting over and over again "Ring Pop! RING POP!". He then turned around, asked me to marry him, and I cried full on ugly tears while saying "is this real life?". It was perfect Here is my ring, and a picture of the proposal...FH picked it out all by himself (rose gold...also my absolute favorite!) Love hearing all of the proposal stories...so sweet!

It was the Sunday of the last free weekend we were going to have for over a month soI suggested we hike to the Pfeifferhorn as we had wanted to for a while. FH seemed grumpy and quiet which is not like him at all. It was super hot that day and I wanted to turn around before we had even reached the lake where we planned to stop for lunch (I have asthma and between the elevation and the heat, I was having a hard time that day). FH kept saying we were too close to turn around and we had to at least make it to the lake. I pushed through, made it to the lake, and immediately found a rock to sit on. I asked FH to put some more sunblock on my back so he went behind me and then came back around to crouch in front of me. He tripped on our backpack and almost feel down the hill so I reached out to grab him and make sure he was alright and he held out a ring and asked me to marry him! I was so caught off guard and did not expect it at all. That was why he had seemed so grouchy; he was nervous. The proposal revived me and I rallied and made it the 2 more miles to the peak! We both ended up sunburnt, sore, and tired and it was the perfect day! The first photo is from right after he proposed (please don't mind how gross I look it was 100 out that day) the second is the view once we got to the peak.

My FH asked me while taking a hike through some woods near my house.. we stopped to admire the beautiful tree colors in this gorgeous ravine.. we were all warm from walking up a steep hill to get there, I told him to take off his pullover and jokingly turned around and said I would block him so others wouldn't see him.. he tapped my back so I turned around and he was on one knee.. I started crying.. and forgot to say yes.. 😄 till he asked...

FH and I have been together for 7yrs. And we had tried to go to Ireland a couple years ago, but it fell through. So, when he and I began to plan to go for my 40th Birthday- June 24- I had nothing other than a Romantic Birthday trip in mind.

Well, I had to go to care for my mom for 3mo 500miles away, & I had been dropping hints allllll over about the type of ring I wanted, size and even took him into a store to show him/get sized in front of him for about 5yrs lol!, and apparently while I was gone he decided to go ring shopping.

We were going through TSA security and he had his carry on bag searched, panicking looking through it after they were done, I looked at him quizzically and asked "All ok over there??", he stopped and looked at me with relief as his hand, apparently, closed around the item he was worried wasn't in there, "Yup! Was afraid the Euros weren't in there. They are"... I was still super clueless.
Given he had said he was "On the 5 year plan & would ask within that time" and we were almost 2yrs over, October 1st is our Anniversary- we left June 22 for Ireland. And the fact his 21yo daughter has had it out for me for the whole time( & I wasn't even the one after mommy, even tho they had divorced when she was 4!!) I wanted to believe that he was going to ask, but didn't think he would...

We got to Ireland and saw Billy Joel in Dublin, and no proposal, so I didn't think he was going to. Then that evening we had very rich food and went to bed. Next day our driver arrived, my 40th Birthday, with flowers and took us to ur next hotel.
Powerscourt Hotel is extremely luxurious and romantic.
We had a very elegant, tasty romantic dinner with an expensive bottle of champagne. Seated next to the large picture windows and near the fireplace at the end of the room, we had a little corner to ourselves.
Erik wasn't eating much, & I'd thought it was because of the time change/food from night before. So when he got up I thought it was to use the restroom, and I looked out the picture window only turning back when I heard him say "Jen?"
I turned back and saw him on one knee, he reached for my hand and holding it said "Well, we've been together for, almost, 7yrs and you know I love you...." I was nodding- still not letting my heart believe what my head was telling me-"and I want to know Will. You. Marry. Me??" I saw him slip his hand from his pocket and holding something in it, he looked up and smiled. "Yes!! Dear god YES!!!" I cried and he then turned the ring around and slipped it onto my finger, saying "I guess you really are a 4.5!" and I was dumbfounded and speechless when I saw the ring... it was soooo much more. More beautiful, much larger than I'd expected- just more.... "I hope that you like it, your birthday present..."I LOVE IT!" Was my reply...

So, coming home from Ireland after a romantic, magical birthday, couples trip engaged was even better...
( The night we got engaged, my 40th Birthday about 11pm. My I-can't-believe-it's-real-and-not-a-dream happy face. And the ring in all its sparkly goodness.)

I love reading all the stories!

I was in our kitchen after getting home late from an event we had attended. I was turned facing the counter and I feel a tap on my back. I turned around and he was in one knee and asked the big question. I was in such shock, that instead of saying yes I asking if he was serious. It was such a surprise and not how he planned but the “time was right”. It was also perfect because we cook together all the time and spend a lot of time in the kitchen together.

This picture is how we announced it on social media. Instead of an obvious post, I just updated my profile pic to see who would notice the ring first. We aren’t the serious types and have a hard time taking a normal selfie.

He recreated our 3rd date. He said that's when he knew I was the one. Even had the bbq place that he ordered from on our 3rd date make the same food even thou they werent even open yet. He brought my daughters and they were in on the whole thing. Even helped picked the ring. I ugly cried lol

We went on an overnight camping trip to a state park a few hours away, and decided to hike when we arrived (one of our favorite activities to do together)! He was being oddly possessive of our daypack that we always take with us, and usually split time carrying it, but for some reason I thought he was just being a weirdo and wasn’t suspicious at all! We set off on our hike, and got to a secluded overlook part of the trail. I’m short, and always step on stumps when I see one, and this is exactly what I did!! He asked if I could hold the pack for a minute, and I obliged (thinking that it was extremely heavy for just some sweatshirts and water bottles). He knelt to tie his shoe (classic), and I was looking at the beautiful views when I realized he was taking a really long time to tie his sneaker! I looked down at him, and he was staring at me nervously. I asked “what are you doing??” And he asked me to marry him! I must’ve asked if he was serious at least ten times, as we have talked about marriage in our future but I was under the impression it would be a long time coming! I of course said yes, and he slipped this custom made piece of bling onto my finger! 😍❤️💍
