Do any of you ladies have a plan? Married ladies, how much did you drink? Based on a thread yesterday, several married ladies regret not drinking enough...but I'm wondering, where that is? My tolerance is pretty bad lately (4 drinks and I'm feeling like death the next day) so I'm want to have a...

My tolerance is pretty bad lately (4 drinks and I'm feeling like death the next day) so I'm want to have a plan, but still loosen the nerves. Any thoughts?

Haha I've also been building my tolerance. I think the key, for me at least, is not to mix my beverages. I need to pick one cocktail, and stick with it all day.

Also, to assist with the inevitable hangover the next day, instead of a fancy brunch, I'm getting my favorite hangover foods. Potato Oles from Taco John's and Casey's breakfast pizza.

I'm sure one would regret more if you were to get drunk and make an a$$ of yourself at your own wedding.

I plan to only have a glass of champagne and maybe a glass or two of wine throughout the day, while intermittingly having water. But I get weepy and then sickly when I over drink - it's not a pretty sight!

I had a mimosa getting my hair done, a bloody Mary to calm me down (best man was running late and it KILLED my photography timeline...I was bitchy), a fee sips of wine before the ceremony, and probably only.....2 drinks during the reception? Then 2 drinks at the after party. Honestly, I wouldn't have minded drinking more, but I don't mind that I went to bed sober. We had SO many out of town guests that I NEVER see, I was more happy to visit with then then get plastered. And remember it Smiley smile

See we just do it all on the weekend, so idk what's worse lol. I looked at my bar tab from Saturday and my drink number was in the double digits. Yikes! I blame it on the fact that we now live in NJ and bars are open til 3.

I had some wine before the ceremony to calm down plus a ton of water. I think I only had about 3 glasses of wine at the wedding though. I definitely was not drunk.

    Lara,

I would recommend first you make sure you eat something before you begin any drinking. Secondly I would recommend you wait until after the ceremony or at least limit yourself to one drink before the ceremony and maybe one drink after so you don't look tipsy in your wedding photos. Glassy eyes and that drunk look won't translate into flattering photos. Let loose after your important photos have been taken!

FH and I are both tanks when it comes to drinking. Elyse, your post made me feel better because I totally felt like an alcoholic! I know how to pace myself so as long as I make sure I drink water and eat something, I'll be fine. I have attended a few weddings with a lack of food and an abundance of alcohol and it does NOT end pretty. My plan is to have at most a glass a champagne or a mimosa before the ceremony, and then alternate water with a drink through dinner and the first part of the reception. But all bets are off at the end of the reception and if we decide to go out after.

I'm a little worried about FH because he's so shy he might try to drink to get over his nerves. I mean the boy can drink but he starts slurring his words way before he actually feels drunk. I'm going to enlist my BIL (a groomsman) to try to keep an eye on him before the ceremony.

Just curious, why is it so important to drink a lot? I don't care and this isn't to be mean I am just curious since you all seem to be building your tolerance? (I feel like I'm missing something) Is it because you want to get your monies worth with an open bar? Or just want to have fun?

I will probably have a drink while getting ready and then I will probably have one or two with dinner and maybe 1 or 2 with the reception. Not a huge drinker but I do find it relaxing Smiley smile

I will probable have my signature coconut vodka and squirt drink throughout the day. I drink it every time I drink so I have built up a tolerance for that specific drink. Also with me, if I am moving around and taking care of business, I don't feel the alcohol as much. If I am drinking and sitting down, I get drunk wayyy faster. I am planning on getting buzzed and feeling good but not smelling like a vodka bar.

Gosh, Im so worried about FH drinking im not sure it I will have any. One of his friends weddings you could tell the GMs and the groom were right at the edge of drunk. or they were drunk and able to hold it very well. There was way too much smiling and glossy eyes on that side. meanwhile the bride was trying to look good in pictures. I just ask no more than one drink before the ceremony and afterwards just dont get to the point where he's asleep somewhere.

I'm not a huge drinker to begin with. It never even crossed my mind to have a drink before the wedding. I had two drinks during the reception. Getting buzzed or sloppy is not really my thing. I've never needed to drink to have a good time.

I plan on having champagne while getting ready and I'm sure I will drink at the reception. Not sure how much. It all depends on how the day goes honestly.

I was really worried about getting too drunk while getting ready. Boy was that wrong.

Here's the thing, I was so amp'd up and excited that I felt like any alcohol didn't affect me. I had a couple of drinks while getting ready but, didn't feel anything. While at the reception I had a couple of glasses of wine with dinner and that was it. I was stone sober all night long. My DH was sober almost all night, his friends wanted him to take a shot toward the end of the night and I think it hit him a little harder than expected but, it was by no means too much.

@Prom I'm not building my tolerance, so much completely understanding it. I don't think I need drinks for my wedding, I'm usually the DD with my friends- however I know i WILL be drinking so i want to make sure I'm fulling in tune with my bodies capabilities.

My face gets super puffy when i drink, so my drinking will have to happen after the photographer leaves. But I do plan to have a mimosa while im getting ready!
