Drinking on your wedding day

Do any of you ladies have a plan? Married ladies, how much did you drink? Based on a thread yesterday, several married ladies regret not drinking enough...but I'm wondering, where that is? My tolerance is pretty bad lately (4 drinks and I'm feeling like death the next day) so I'm want to have a...

My tolerance is pretty bad lately (4 drinks and I'm feeling like death the next day) so I'm want to have a plan, but still loosen the nerves. Any thoughts?

I have actually asked my sister (MOH) to help me out. I have a tendency to get carried away especially when I mix. I also didn't think about the energy expended while dancing...must remember water!

I just don't feel good when I drink a lot. I plan to have 1drink before, and 3 tops the rest of the night. I'll also be drinking a ton of water and sticking with one kind of alcohol, probably champagne and white wine.

I'll probably have a mimosa or two before to calm my nerves (not so much to get married, but be stared at by 150 people). I don't want to be drunk by any means, at least until the end of the night if it's going to happen. Nothing like being that drunk asshole thanking their guests.

Yes, I really don't want the hangover. We have tons of family getting together the next day, so I'm hoping that I won't have to bow out because I'm puking my brains out.

Nicole, I feel you on the nerves...I'm not a good "center of attention" person

My FH and his GM said they're going to be wasted before the ceremony. Oh Jesus help us all!

I'm just staying away from certain drinks..... Vodka is number two and champagne is number one LOL. Something about the bubbles just does not agree with me. I think I'll do small sips for getting ready and toasts and stuff and then just have a few of our signature drinks.

I just went out this weekend for the first time since having my baby and it was a rude awakening of how much I can really handle anymore! So glad I realized before the wedding that my tolerance is way, way down. I already had a wedding nightmare where I drank too much and totally did not remember all the big events at the reception (first dance, cake cutting, garter toss, etc.) I was so bummed when I woke up! I will probably have a few small glasses of wine throughout the night and maybe a signature drink, just to loosen up a bit.

My eyes also get super squinty when I drink too much, that's not pretty for my pictures...

Lara - If i tell my FH that he can only have one drink he'll laugh at me! Lol Then again he has a super high tolerance. He knows his limits and he knows how pissed I would be if he actually got drunk before the ceremony.

We're drinkers, so we'll be drinking but I am planning on steering clear of hard liquor. I want to be able to remember the night!

We're drinkers so theres that lol FH and the boys will actually be spending the day at the venue playing corn hole, swimming, drinking beer, etc. they all know i dont care that theyre going to be drinking they just know to keep the drinks going slow until later in the night.

as for the ladies, we'll have beers (mich ultras bc ya know, calories) and cutesy little mimosa and sangria drinks during the day.

casual saturdays and sundays grilling out/going on the river/canoeing and day drinking are the norm for us so everyones pretty good at pacing themselves.

im a firm believer that as long as you pace yourself, keep water handy and snack you will always be good.

I had a couple of drinks before the ceremony.. Okay maybe like 4 and couple shots, but I have a high tolerance. I felt just loose enough for the ceremony that I was relaxed & no nerves. After dinner is when I started throwing them back. I got more drunk than I probably should have, but I remember everything. We even went bar hopping afterwards.

My advice is know your limits. And definitely drink up to the wedding if you plan on having a drink in your hand all night. Plus, you don't want to get hammered from 2 glasses of wine.. lol.

My main advice is to not mix, and to eat some carbs throughout the day. Even if it's literally a piece of bread that you give one of your bridesmaids to give you during pictures to prep.

Even if i'm hungover the next day I'll be married- should cancel each other out? I'll just sick with the "your wedding is only as good as your hangover, and apparently i had a hell of a wedding" and shrug it off while wearing my sunglasses.

FMIL has requested we only have one drink prior to the ceremony, mostly likely because she's afraid FH friends will get him wasted. I'm fine with that so I'll just have one mimosa while getting ready. After the ceremony I'll probably stick with champagne or white wine, and only a couple glasses until most people have left. I don't want drunk eyes in my photos. We're having an after party so I'll probably have a couple beers there.

We drink a lot. Like this convo now makes me feel like an alcoholic. Anyway, I'm sure the wedding will be no different. FH has assigned certain people to make sure we always have a drink. I did ask him to take it easy before the ceremony and I probably have to because I get really red and blotchy on my chest when I drink. That won't look good with a strapless dress.

Elyse, we drink often (almost daily), but usually one or two...I drank 4 on sunday night and the pictures are not pretty (red face, squinty eyes, etc).
