Do you think you'll be able to sleep the night before your "Big Day" !!!!

Bridetobe0816, on February 5, 2014 at 2:19 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 55

I keep thinking about and I hope I'll be able to but I know i'm going to be so excited and anxious. My mother and MIL say you have to sleep. I'll try my best but i don't know! What do you think?

I doubt I'll get much the whole week. I can't sleep when I'm the least bit excited.

Probably not! I can hardly sleep on Christmas Eve, I'm sure I'll be wide awake all night before my wedding!

I know how you feel @DanieGee and Lacey, I just don't want to be completely exhausted! And worrying about getting enough sleep won't help i'm sure lol

Probably not. I'm pretty sure I'll be trying to go to sleep but it won't happen. When I'm excited and anxious, my mind just keeps going. Maybe I'll try putting on some calming music. Hopefully, that will help me fall into slumberland!

My mom and one of my BMs stayed in the hotel suite with me the night before. After coming back from the rehearsal dinner, m my Mom fell quickly asleep, my BM and I stayed up for a couple of hours talking. We have been friends since we were 13 so we can talk forever. Smiley smile We ended up falling asleep a little before 1AM. I set an alarm for 5:45 am since hair and makeup was to start at 6:30 am for everyone and I wanted to get in a run beforehand. I ended up waking up at 4:45 am and couldn't go back to sleep. My run was a little longer and I had some ME time to just sit back and relax.

I would definitely try to get some sleep, but you will have so much adrenaline on the big day that you might not need a full night's sleep.

When all was said and done, I was up for about 24 hours (night before wedding-wedding night), then got 3 hours of sleep (wedding night), woke up and hosted a brunch for about 40 people. Smiley smile By Monday (wedding was Saturday), I was dragging.

    I got a whopping 4 hours.

I spent the night before at the hotel with my two daughters. I was too wired to fall asleep so I was up until 1am. DH and I were texting and I was hanging out here. Then, my youngest woke up at 5 because she was hungry. We had dinner the night before, obviously, but I hadn't thought to pack a bedtime snack. So at 5am, I hit the vending machines for her and couldn't get back to sleep.

Our reception ended at 10, but didn't go back up to our room until 12:30. Crazy exhausted. Back up at 8 to meet our guests in the breakfast room at the hotel.

    Fabulous weekend though.

Just from experience- I didn't sleep AT ALL. I actually got little sleep the whole month of January. I am making up for it now- all I want to do is sleep this week. I'm exhausted now but I just couldn't sleep. I would go to bed around 12 and wake up at 4am and go to the gym or go to work early. The night before I was a nervous wreck. I felt sick, I couldn't sleep, and I was worrying about every detail. I had a friend come to the hotel the morning of the wedding to teach a yoga class for my bridesmaids and I- it was absolutely wonderful, fun and helped to relax me that day!

I definitely will. Our B parties are the night before. Thank god the wedding is in the evening, or I'd oversleep and nothing would get done lol...

@Bridetobe0816, we left for the honeymoon on Tuesday morning (8am flight). Fortunately, I thought ahead enough to have 95% of our packing finished BEFORE the wedding. Only items that needed to be thrown in our luggage was toiletries.

It was all worth it!! Smiley smile

I don't think I'd be able to sleep. My mind never stops. I have a hard time relaxing as it is and to be so excited to get married, who knows if I will be able to sleep. I will probably feel sick to my stomach with worry. I am a person that seems to have to make sure all goes according to plan. Who knows, my wedding day may be the day when I say, F-it! It is what it is and if you don't like it....there is the door!
