DIY wine glass wedding favor- trial glass done!

Kayla P. (Kayla S.), on February 1, 2012 at 5:10 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 14

So... I have been trying to decide on wedding favors, and I originally thought of painting wine glasses. Then I decided that was too much work :-) Anyways, I found photos online of encrusted wine glasses, found a tutorial, and tried it out myself with fantastic results. I love how it looks and it only took me 5 minutes to make. As soon as I relocate the tutorial I will put it up. We are going to base the bead color scheme around the color of the table it will be at. There will also be a castle place card on the rim of the wine glass.

Carole, its funny because it looks more complicated than it is Smiley tongue you just spread clear silicone like the kind for aquariums in a thick even layer, press in the larger beads, then sprinkle the smaller ones on to cover the rest of the silicone, pressing them lightly into the silicone, then let cure for 24-48 hours.

Oh I so love it!!! I want to do that for my champagne glasses!!! Please, please, please post the tutorial.

I was going to rhinestone the base of mine, but I'm so blinged out. I did my shoes, my guest book pen and my sombrero cake topper. This would be such a lovely nice change!

BTW we bought a box of wine glasses set of 18 on the cheap for when we throw parties. Not sure where bought them it was so long ago, but they are nice. When you purchase your wine glass I would look into boxed sets. They tend to be less expensive.

Start DIYing now!!! I'm soooo glad that I started all of my diy projects early. FH kept saying you have 8 months, 6 months, 4 months! And now we're at 3 months and I still have so much to do.

There's still so much to do. Plus some of the stuff gets tedious to do, so it's nice to just be able to do a few things at one sitting and then bugger off. Instead of having to sit hours laboring over the same thing.

Thanks so much for the tutorial!

Wow very cool! I already started on my favors....but this would be a great gift, or even a cool idea for my own custom wine glasses!

Ooooo...I could maybe do this with my toasting flutes!

I have started making a set for my wedding party, each one will have pieces that represent the person. I found a set of 8 glasses that were fitting for the theme and will decorate each one accordingly. This one is for my cousin who is big on vintage I spired decor and clothing.
