Help with bouquet ideas please!

Holly, on April 28, 2012 at 7:53 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 10

I would like to make my own bouquets and not spend very much making them also. I have been looking at fake flowers at craft stores and just dont know which direction to go.. just no clue. This is the one thing i am really stuck on. My colors are a deep purple and silver. I dont really have a theme. Any suggestions? Should i make mine simple with all one color and the same flower or a mixture? And then how would you make the BMs so that they are different than mine? Thanks for any advice. Its really frustrating me lol

HOlly Look at www.fiftyflowers.com . These are real flowers but they have tons of them. For silver you can use silver wire or accents in the bouquet. My colors are navy, teal, and silver and all the bouquets will have silver handles(real flowers). and the flowers them selves will be hot pink, dark orange, and yellow roses. You can use a contrasting color to the purple and add another punch of color. The picture is the insperation for all my flowers.

I did real bouquets, for my bouquet (its slightly larger) but its hot pink gerbera daisies and then mini white and mini two tone (white and pink) gerbera daisies, wrapped in royal blue ribbon..my girls bouquets are the same thing except reversed, they have white gerbera daisies with mini hot pink and two tone gerbera daisies, with the royal blue ribbon.

Ok. i thought about doing either all purple (maybe like a mix of hydrangeas and ranunculus), or purple and white roses for mine. I will add some crystal or pearl floral picks either way i think. Just not sure what would look good. And i was also concerned about using purple flowers for the BMs bouquets because their dresses are purple and i think it would blend in with their dress too much, and its not like i could use silver flowers lol. So im just lost

Maybe do a lighter shade of purple than what your color purple is? You also have the option of white flowers, other than the roses you are using for yours. If you are going to DYI with fake flowers, I would just buy what appeals to you and throw some stuff together and see if you come up with something you like!

Word of warning hydrangeas are high maintenence easy wilting (so I am told)

real always looks nicer as well

and I think it would be nice to go to a florist and order by the stem, or bunches then just hand tie.

YOu could do the bridesmaids with a few white lilies and some greenery, or white roses white gerber daisies, daisies, carnations. (their bouquet isn't as important)

For yourse get a combo of what ever white flower you pick for them and a variety of purple flowers.

Ok thanks. Im just on a really tight budget and cant afford real flowers. I am at least going with the real touch ones though. I wasnt sure if BMs bouquets would look ok white, didnt know if white was mainly for the bride, but i want mainly purple for mine. Maybe ill do that then Smiley smile

What about something like this for mine? And then do the same for BMs but in opposite colors and smaller?

I like the above pic and I would do silks - Michaels has stems on sale for 50% every other week and you have plenty of time before the wedding to stock up on them.

Here's one with roses - you could do hand-tied (easiest) and wrap the stems in silver ribbon and add silver accents.

Let me know if you're not sure how to do a hand-tied bouquet - I did them for niece's wedding and they are very easy to put together.

Ok thanks guys. I found a tutorial online for making bouquets that didn't look too hard. I've never made them before but i figured I have a lot of time to play around with them and hopefully they will turn out half way decent haha
