Did you talk about ‘the kiss’?

Yes actually we did because I'm taller. So we went with the dip kiss for that reason. My advice to those who want to do that, practice. It didn't quite look the way I thought it would.

The other day while we were making dinner, I said to FH 'Let's practice our kiss.. I want to try a dip!" He said sure. So I go in for the kiss, expecting him to dip me and instead he leans way back and we almost fall. He says "I thought YOU would dip ME! It's 2015 - a man can be dipped if he wants to!"

He thinks he's hilarious.

We are both such awkward people that I'm sure we'll talk and "practice" haha BUT our officiant cracked us up when he met us; he said if our kiss looks weird or isn't up to par he will make us do it again.

We practiced it and I STILL made it awkward.

Yeah we did. I didn't want a dip, and we practiced where we'd put our hands so it didn't look weird and so our faces weren't blocked for the pictures. We also agreed on a little tongue..."church tongue"

We talked about it a lot when we first got engaged and we even practiced dipping (I tend to look rigid so I don't think that will happen). We aren't actually sure there is even a kiss moment in a catholic ceremony. Most of my cousins have done church weddings, but only a couple have been catholic masses and I can't remember if they got to kiss. Does anyone know?

We have not talked about it yet but, I feel like it might be a dip. BUT, FH is almost a foot taller than I am. He says he is gonna hide a step stool behind a tree & when our pastor tells him " you may now kiss the bride" he is going to hold up one finger & run behind the tree bring out the step stool so I can stand on it & then kiss me that way More than likely that is whats going to happen.

We practiced the dip and I almost got my head cracked open. I am not sure what we will do. Even if we practice I am sure we'll be to nervous to do anything special.

We would try and practice it but would always end up laughing. We're not really PDA people but I told him, no dip (for the kiss or first dance) and no quick peck.

This topic always remind me of "church tongue" from The Wedding Singer.

We have discussed it a little. We would love to do a dip possibly but we will have to practice that. I don't think FH will mind practicing the kiss.

We had no planning put into that. Our officiant made a joke during rehearsal cause he told DH "okay, now kiss her" and DH just said "okay" and didn't move..

The officiant looked at him and said "Do I need to show you how its done? Kiss you fiance man!"

I was laughing so hard I think I kissed his nose. DH handled it better during the wedding though

@KB.... My first marriage was in a Catholic Church.... Yes they say "you may kiss the bride"... but I think that our officiant, a Monsignor, told us outright that we were only permitted a 'closed mouth kiss'. Perhaps so somebody wouldn't have a full on makeout session in the church.

@Jannifer thanks! The priest told us the order of things is different in a catholic wedding. He said that we will actually be married part way through and then he will finish the mass. We didn't think at the time to ask about the kiss. I thought about calling to ask, but felt kind of silly doing that.

We just went for it, no planning. Didn't realize H's hands were inappropriately placed on my butt until I got my sneak peek back! He said he couldn't help that! Lol

We never spoke of the kiss...I don't know why because I remember as a young girl dreaming about that first kiss and how perfect it needed to be. All throughout wedding planning I never once thought about what we would do for our first kiss. We are big kissers and we kiss all the time anywhere we go, not like tongue and making out type of kissing just kissing. So, our first kiss was kinda lame. We kissed long and hard but no tongue and we literally kept our hands at each others elbows....the picture isn't as cool as I wanted it to be but oh well!

I hope FH touches my butt during the kiss ;D

@Ally I love you, I just did a spit take with my coffee. We will probably practice for the same reasons.

We did! We were swimming one night and I told him we needed to practice the kiss, so he grabbed me and gave me the most perfect wedding kiss ever! Made my knees weak.

He's been gone for 3 weeks (uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugh) and is getting home tonight, so I think it's time to practice some more!!

H grabbed my face during our first kiss and it showed how excited we were. It was priceless!
