Did you put together a wedding committee?

Nicole, on December 5, 2011 at 1:27 PM Posted in Planning 0 29

I am in process of putting together a wedding committee and didn't want to go over board with it so just wanted to ask if you all put together? My wedding committee will be both people within the wedding party and people not in the wedding.

I am having a very small wedding/reception so I am pretty much the committee LOL! FH is helping me though so we'll include him too.

That's pretty serious. I only use my bridesmaids to call vendors if I am at work and cannot get to it.

I put one together. We had about 5 meetings to name sure everything was planned. I'm so glad I did it really took the pressure off me and my wedding planner was surprised on how coordinated we were and really helped her out alot.

I haven't done one....its just me and FH right now...all of my girls keep.asking me if i need help, but I really havent taken them up on the offer yet...I just feel like I don't want to be swayed and confused by too many people's opinions... The most I will do.is maybe have a couple of "craft sessions" because at this point I plan to do some things myself

Ok thanks everyone! @Desi I feel you I just want to make sure everything is in order with all I have going on in my everyday life! :-) That must be a BIG help with the FH helping out...LOL!! My FH help so far is the date and to let him know what the cost is! Not that its a bad thing but he's here for me but he's not as into it in picking out stuff as I am which OK!

I don't think I've ever heard of a wedding committee. Really, a wedding is just a big party, so not sure why you would need others, parties aren't hard to throw.

@Nicole- in my opinion its better that way lol...my FH is way too opinionated! I mean, its nice because I know that he cares and is actually excited about it..but he is screwing up my vision lolol...I just need him to put on what I ask him to put on and show up!

I'm paying my wedding planner a great deal of money so she and her team are the wedding commitee.

Nope, I was the committee ... I planned the whole thing from the date to the venue to the church to the pre-marital counseling sessions to the bridesmaids dresses, Mother's dresses, tuxes, centerpieces, invites, floral arrangements ... all while working Full Time and going to school full time ...

But you have to do what is right for you not us ...

I don't have a commitee but I do have someone who is not in my wedding party acting as the wedding manager the day of. She's my best friends older sister who is the most organized human I know! I thank God for her everyday!

Glenn, haven't you ever heard of a party planning committee?

As for me, I am the committee. I ask for peoples opinions occasionally, and try to get FH's approval on things before I shell out the cash, but that's about it.

Frank and I made one hell of a committee. We met weekly, enjoyed some snacks and drank heavily.

Judith...I agree! I was social chair of the party planning committee of my frat in college. Yes, frat, I was a little sister. Someone has to decide which kind of punch should be mixed with the grain alcohol.

Nicole...I am not being a smart arse or making fun of your post. I think the more hands in the pot, the better the chance the punch to taste like crap.
