Did you go into debt for your wedding?

Omg I worked about 75hrs/week and I nearly killed myself. Me and FH have our wedding paid off in full and I still have plenty of time to spare. What a relief!! Did you pay yours off with cash, card, loan?

No debt, everything will be handed over in cash and for the people we have to mail money to it will be check. Not worth going into debt

We paid everyhting on credit card with 1% cash back, and we already have all the funds to pay everything fully so we'll be paying off the bills as soon as they come.

Everything is paid off in cash. We have no debt (except for a mortgage) and we'd like to have only the mortgage to pay off at any point in our lives.

My parents paid for most things. Those things that they didn't pay for we put on credit card for the travel points and paid the card off right away.

Technically, but only to get the miles or points. We're paying the balances off when we get back from our wedding. I'd say about half was on our credit cards and the other is in cash.

Luckily my parents are paying for most of it. What we buy we pay for in cash. We're still focusing on our debt (paying off FH's car.) Getting our cars and the house paid off are more important to me than having an extravagant wedding. It's the accountant in me! Looking at what we pay in interest is too much for me!

Everything went on our credit cards but we pay our credit cards every month. We have both gotten a lot of cash back on our cards!

We're putting everything we can on credit card because we get cash back, but we pay our balance in full every month and have more than our wedding budget in our account. So technically we're paying with credit card, but in principle we're paying cash/savings.

We have a wedding fund that we put money in monthly. We have saved up almost all we need to pay our vendors in full; payment is due in August so we will have the full amount by then. We plan on using our rewards card for points and then paying off the card with the wedding fund.

I've been putting all the wedding expenses on my credit card and then paying it off right away. Both FH and I have good paying jobs so we've been able to pay for many things in full and pay it off with our next paycheque.

It also helps that the biggest expense of the the venue/food is being covered by my dad.

Mostly cash/checks, but we did use CC's for some things that we're steadily paying back. I don't regret a dime of it and neither does my husband. Didn't take out loans though, that's where we drew the line.

So far so good with paying cash. Our totals are coming out to a little over 10K and we still need about 2K. FH has been working his butt off in overtime. Since I'm on salary I have no chance at overtime pay. But, we're hopeful we can make it there by the time we need it. I'll likely end up taking a very small portion from savings, just hoping that's not the case. But definitely, no credit cards/loans.

Nope, we were lucky to get help from parents to cover part of the wedding. The rest we paid for ourselves as we went along. The past 12 months have been the most expensive of our lives, between buying a house and paying for a wedding.

No way I'd go into debt for a wedding! I've paid my wedding off and still have cash in the bank for a down payment on our first house!

Some things had to be paid with certified checks, others we used a credit card. My parents are paying the bills, and they won't be in debt. They wanted to use a card for as much as possible so they could get the miles.

Nope no debt here. That's not the path we wanted to take. We paid everything cash... And we had help from our parents .. And now, we're just enjoying the married life debt free !!!!

Same as Erin - we have the cash saved up, but we're using a Discover card for deposits and paying it off monthly to get those rewards. :-) Cash advances, loans, etc. are big no-no's for us.

No debt at all!! We paid for everything from our savings and each pay check we received, we paid on major expenses for the wedding. The FH and I are living separately with relatives until June 28th. Our new apartment is all set up and ready for us to move in. I must admit, I do miss having my checks to myself and getting my bi weekly mani/pedis Smiley sad 8 days and I will get my life and paychecks back! lol
